Mental Health

Mental health measures (four types of care)

self care

We provide training and education to help employees learn how to control stress responses and increase their tolerance to stress in the workplace.
This is carried out at each workplace in the first, second and third years after joining the company.

All employees working at the Shiga Plant (including outside staff) received group training. Employees working on the production line also worked hard on egograms and other exercises in classrooms.

We have set up a special space called the "Mind Fitness Zone" where you can practice mindfulness (meditation) in a quiet place.

line care

We continue to provide training and education to all managers every year so that they can recognize and deal with signs of mental health issues in their subordinates from an early stage.

Internal EAP

Health staff are on-site at the Health Management Offices in Tokyo, Osaka, and Shiga.
We work closely with industrial physicians and counselors to evaluate the workplace and stress levels, and work with managers to make improvements.

external EAP

We have established an external consultation desk that can be used not only by employees but also by their families for any concerns related to work, personal life, health, etc.
We have created an environment where you can consult 24 hours a day, in person, by phone, or by email.

stress check

The participation rate in the stress check in fiscal 2024 was 97.4%, maintaining a high level of over 90% since the system was introduced. The percentage of people with high stress was 10.4%, and is gradually decreasing as measures to improve the workplace environment are taken.

Return to work support program

We support employees who have taken time off due to mental health issues to return to work, with a focus on industrial health staff in the workplace, as well as managers, supervisors, attending physicians, and others.

We provide necessary follow-up at each of the five stages based on the "Guidelines for Supporting Workers Returning to Work after Taking a Leave of Absence Due to Mental Health Issues (Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare)."

In particular, as part of our efforts to prevent employees from taking leave from work again, we are putting effort into conducting regular interviews with industrial psychiatrists, using external rework facilities, acclimating employees to work before returning to work, and providing in-house counseling.
In order to prevent the occurrence of absenteeism in the first place, we are focusing on primary and secondary prevention and taking preventive measures.
