Paving the way to the future with research and intellectual property

In order to continue creating new value for society, the Itoki Group is strengthening its research and development functions that will lead to the office of the future, including work styles, new materials, DX, and new production technologies. In addition, we believe that intellectual property supports this new value, so we link management and intellectual property and conduct intellectual property activities that will lead to business growth.

“Research to revitalize co-creation work using AI” with Musashino University Faculty of Data Science

The research department conducts applied research and development planning on advanced technologies that are ahead of the times, especially AI, data science, and IoT. Currently, he is active in anticipating the needs of a rapidly changing digital society and working on DX technology that aims to transform business processes, as well as interdisciplinary co-creation activities with university laboratories and corporate development departments with diverse expertise. We are focusing our efforts on this.
In joint research with Musashino University's Takafumi Nakanishi Laboratory, we are conducting "research to revitalize 'co-creation work' using AI." By visualizing and analyzing the sounds and images of group work and ``reflecting/evaluating'' the results, we are working on technology that activates the creative process and leads to success in learning.
Going forward, it will become mainstream in business and academia for multi-talented people to gather together to form teams and carry out hybrid work that combines face-to-face and remote work. In order to socially implement these new styles and systems in a way that is better for individuals and organizations, we are conducting unique application development together with the next generation of users at universities and companies. Although there are various challenges to overcome before commercialization, we will continue to co-create with our partners and advance unique activities that will create value for the future.

All-employee participation project “Patto Challenge”

Pat challenge

At the end of 2021, we have started a project with the participation of all employees, soliciting ideas that suddenly come to mind and aiming to obtain patents. This is a project in which all employees participate in a company-wide vote on submitted ideas on the company's SNS. Everyone has the opportunity to become a patent inventor, and we aim to use that inspiration to create future ITOKI products and services, and to energize our employees.

Patent awareness activities

We are working to make the sales department aware of the characteristics of ITOKI products whose uniqueness is guaranteed by patents. We aim to improve the intellectual property literacy of the sales department and raise the level of uniqueness of ITOKI products.
