Itoki Group ESG policy

Itoki Group has formulated its ESG policy with the aim of realizing “Vibrant People, Beautiful Planet” in society. Itoki Group, as a company that creates people’s “Working Environment,” shall strive to solve problems to achieve a sustainable society while addressing environmental issues.

Environment

Itoki Group shall continue to practice environmental conservation activities in its business activities, including the manufacture of products and provision of services, in order to create a “Lively Earth” society.

Social

Itoki Group, including its supply chain, shall strive to improve the working environment, including respect for human rights and the elimination of harassment, in order to create a society in which “people can also be vibrant.” We shall also make efforts to enable our diverse human resources to perform at their fullest potential.

Governance

Itoki Group shall commit to transparent and reliable management for sustainable business growth, comply with relevant laws and regulations and compliance, and ensure thorough information security. In addition, we shall emphasize dialogue with stakeholders to ensure the continuation of sound business operations based on diverse external perspectives.

Based on our corporate philosophy, we have established the following environmental policy.

The Itoki Group recognizes that planet environmental issues are the most important management issue, in order to pass on society rich in nature where lively and active individuals work together for the betterment of a beautiful and sustainable planet to the future. We will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by making effective use of limited resources, conserving biodiversity, and reducing the burden on Planet environment.

Behavioral guidelines

  1. We provide products, services, and spatial designs that are considerate of planet environment and people. In product development, we promote the creation of "Eco products" through universal and eco-friendly manufacturing.
  2. We will incorporate environmental activities into our daily work and strive to preserve planet environment and prevent pollution.

human rights policy

To allow all people to be lively and active, the Itoki Group recognizes that all business activities must be underpinned by a strong respect for human rights. We therefore established the Itoki Group Human Rights Policy as follows.

Scope of application

The scope of application of this policy applies to all officers and employees of ITOKI CORPORATION and the entire ITOKI Group.

Basic approach about human rights

The Itoki Group shall, in order to allow all people to be lively and active, in all of its business activities and all of its relationships in the supply chain, make efforts to respect human rights based on the ideas set out in the United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

1.Respect for human rights

The Itoki Group strives to respect the fundamental human rights of all stakeholders, including customers, in all situations.

2. Prohibition of discrimination

The Itoki Group treats others with respect and does not engage in discriminatory acts based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, nationality, disability, employment type, work style, customs, values, etc. 

3. Prohibition of Harassment

The Itoki Group will not engage in any behavior or conduct that offends human rights (all harassment, including harassment based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, nationality, disability, employment status or working style, customs, values, etc.).

4. Respect for the fundamental rights of employees

The Itoki Group respects basic principles and rights at work and works to create a company where employees can find fulfillment in their work through dialogue with its employees.

5. Consideration for safety and security

The ITOKI Group strives to ensure a workplace environment where employees can work with peace of mind and are healthy both mentally and physically.

6. Prohibition of forced labor and child labor

The Itoki Group does not use forced labor or child labor. We will also work to ensure that we are not complicit in the supply chain.

7. Penetration of education

The Itoki Group will implement appropriate education and training to ensure that this policy permeates all business activities.

Human rights due diligence to fulfill our responsibility to respect human rights

The Itoki Group works to identify negative impacts on human rights and reduce human rights risks through the human rights due diligence process.

Dialogue with stakeholders

The Itoki Group will engage in dialogue with relevant stakeholders regarding actual or potential negative impacts on human rights.

Remedies/correction

If the Itoki Group directly or indirectly has a negative impact on human rights through its business activities, we will take appropriate measures to provide relief and correction.

Education/Training

The Itoki Group will provide appropriate education and training to ensure that this policy is understood and permeated in its own business activities.

Information disclosure

The Itoki Group will appropriately disclose information on its website, etc. regarding the status of its efforts to respect human rights based on this policy.

Basic safety and health policy

Based on our corporate philosophy, we have established the following basic health and safety policy.

ITOKI, which advocates the creation of a people-centered environment, complies with laws and regulations, builds a workplace environment where employees can work safely and with peace of mind, and strives to maintain and improve their health.

All employees recognize that safety and health management activities are a company's top priority and that safety is a basic condition for corporate activities, and we actively promote safety and health activities with the aim of preventing occupational accidents.

Behavioral guidelines

  1. We will comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Law, other related laws and regulations, and safety and health rules. In addition, we will promote voluntary safety and health management by thoroughly complying with public notices and guidelines and establishing internal safety and health management rules, thereby building a trustworthy and reliable company.
  2. In addition to making all employees aware of the basic safety and health policy, we will implement systematic education, training, and drills to raise safety and health awareness and improve knowledge, and to ensure that safety comes first.
  3. In order to create a comfortable workplace, we consider the working environment, long working hours, mental health, and passive smoking as issues, consider countermeasures, and provide guidance and education.
  4. We protect employees from the dangers of occupational accidents by establishing a safety and health management system, providing guidance on safety and health, accumulating and analyzing information on accidents and disasters, holding discussions, and developing countermeasures.
  5. We aim to achieve zero occupational accidents by thoroughly implementing preventive measures such as mutual safety diagnosis (safety patrol), safety audits, and risk assessments (extraction and evaluation of hazards and hazards). We will also promote safety and health activities with an eye to the occupational safety and health management system.
