Contribution to the community and education

The Itoki Group receives expectations and requests from local residents and those involved in education through dialogue and collaboration, and responds to those expectations by creating new value and contributing to society and education.

Sea x Forest: Volunteering to tackle environmental issues

We are conducting volunteer activities to create opportunities to think about environmental issues in our surroundings. The "Sea" project involved picking up washed-up trash at Kasai Seaside Park, while the "Forest" project involved making chopsticks using domestic wood, known as the "Wood Use Project." A total of 34 people participated, including employees' families. As a company that uses wood and resin in its products, we will continue to create opportunities to face environmental issues.

Forest conservation efforts in both the east and west

Since 2009, we have been cooperating with the thinning of the "Chuo Ward Forest" in Tokyo. In 2015, the 125th anniversary of our founding, we opened "Itoki Forest" in Osaka, where we were founded, and have been participating in reforestation activities. In 2023, we held a thinning experience at "Itoki Forest" for the first time in four years, which had been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and 23 employees participated. We will continue to work on forest conservation activities in the future.

Making the local environment cleaner and more abundant

The ITOKI Group is actively engaged in greening activities within its factories and logistics centers across the country. In addition, as members of the local community, we are proactively involved in beautifying the areas around these facilities and offices, participating in cleaning activities held in each region, and so on.

Contribution to education

Holding joint industry-academia classes

As part of a class at Chiba University of Commerce, we shared the challenges facing Japan's forest environment, held a class on examples of ITOKI's use of domestic timber, and the new educational environment in the post-COVID era. We were able to provide practical learning, including a workshop format, to over 250 students. We will continue to actively contribute to the local community through industry-academia joint classes.

Accepting high school students to learn about SDGs

We accept study visits to support the dissemination of SDGs in educational settings. In 2023, we welcomed 38 students from two schools and introduced ITOKI's work style, health management initiatives, and sustainability activities through a tour of the office.
