Use of sustainable materials - Conservation of biodiversity -
Forests not only produce the resource of timber, but also play an important role in supporting the Planet environment, such as conserving biodiversity by nurturing a rich and diverse ecosystem, providing water resources, and preventing global warming by fixing CO2. As a company that produces wood products, ITOKI is proactively involved in participating in social contribution activities related to forest protection and in developing and providing products that utilize local and domestic timber.
biodiversity policy
In addition to the Itoki Group Environmental Policy, the Itoki Group has established a Biodiversity Policy regarding the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, and is implementing measures accordingly.
sustainable wood sourcing

The ITOKI Group uses wood in a variety of products, including office and home furniture. We have established the "Itoki Group Wood Procurement Standards" to promote sustainable wood procurement that takes into consideration social aspects as well as biodiversity. In addition, ITOKI obtained FSC ® CoC certification in 2011 and sells FSC ® certified products. In 2015, we obtained PEFC CoC certification, another international forest certification label. Third-party forest certified products are made from wood from properly managed forests and ensure wood traceability from material procurement to manufacturing to sales of the furniture.

Announcement of new product range "Feel So Wood"

"Feel So Wood" special website
Based on the concept of "seeing, touching and feeling the comfort," ITOKI has announced "Feel So Wood," a new product line that utilizes wood. The special website introduces the development of wooden furniture, solutions that utilize local materials, and the effects that wood has on office workers.
Three new products launched
Under the concept of "Feel So Wood," three wood products have been released. "Feels" is a fireproof partition with a veneer finish, and "vertebra03 wood" is a wooden work chair with a mechanism that follows the working posture. And "knot Work Wood" uses domestic cedar, a softwood, and oak, a hardwood, for the tabletop. In addition to carbon fixation, it also contributes to forest circulation by utilizing materials at the optimum age for felling.

Continued development of "Econifa," a solution that utilizes local materials

Econifa, a solution developed in 2010 to turn local wood from Japanese forests into highly designed furniture and provide it to urban spaces, promotes proper felling and management of forests and creates a place where various living creatures can live. The promotion of Econifa, which revitalizes both forests and cities, contributes in various ways to protecting Planet environment and solving social issues. After participating in the Yamanashi Water Source Brand Promotion Council in 2011, we collaborated with the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation OISCA. Since then, we have been planning symposiums and promoting the brand at exhibitions for 10 years. In December 2023, OISCA awarded us the 10-year long-term membership award.

Future tasks
Itoki has guaranteed the legality of the wood it procures. In the future, in addition to confirming legality, we are considering introducing a system to evaluate the environmental impact that will lead to the conservation of domestic and overseas forest resources, and strengthening our efforts to introduce a system to improve procurement accuracy and raise awareness of forest resource conservation by utilizing locally produced materials. Itoki will protect forest resources and contribute to biodiversity conservation.
