Smart Creation Office
Menicon Co., Ltd., which is challenging the fields of healthcare and life care with its corporate vision of "New Vision of Miru for the World," constructed the "Menicon Theater Aoi Building" with the basic policies of office reform to realize creative work styles, enriching employee benefits, contributing to the community, and developing culture and the arts. The building, which includes offices and a comprehensive arts hall, is a new landmark that nurtures companies, culture, and the community by creating an office environment where employees feel happy and motivated to work.

The central staircase connecting the 7th and 8th floors, called "Miru☆Key Way," is a staircase that generates activity. A projector screen has been installed in the center of the staircase, and it can be used for company events and presentations.

"Rosemary" is a solo work area on the seventh floor, an interactive office floor. It is an open space where individuals can work while communicating with those around them.

The library, where you can plan your activities, relax while browsing documents, or spend some quiet time alone, is furnished with furniture in calming colors.

The fifth floor, which is equipped with open meeting rooms and private rooms, is the reception floor and is a place to express the office concept to the outside world. The rounded design, which is based on the motif of contact lenses, creates a Menicon-like atmosphere.

Mimosa is a hub for internal communication located next to the employee entrance. It is a comfortable space with a large natural wood table, light and greenery.

Orange is a collaborative space for active interaction, such as group work and idea generation. Glass partitions create a sense of unity with the surrounding area.

On the 7th and 8th floors, each activity area has a signboard with the rules for use. The circular design is based on a contact lens, and the area's name is expressed in aroma, along with pictograms of the rules for use.

Adjacent to the main building is the Menicon Theater Aoi Building. The cafe on the first floor is a community space for local residents, and the second to fourth floors are a full-scale arts theater where operas can be performed.

In creating our new office, ITOKI helped us in every aspect, from work style design to operational support. In order to put creative work styles into practice, we planned an office where employees could choose the location to work according to their activities, but we don't think we could have realized this without ITOKI's know-how, such as creating rules to stimulate activities and a location information system to operate hot desking system without stress. Furthermore, the project did not end with completion; we continue to work together to this day, analyzing collected data and reviewing work styles. After the operation began, we held two family visit days for employees, which were a great success. We realized that we had created an office that employees could be proud of.

Menicon Co., Ltd, a contact lens manufacturer, has set the slogan for its 2030 vision as "New Vision of Miru for the World," and is creating spaces throughout the entire building that stimulate the five senses through "seeing."
In addition, as a way of working that puts into practice the company's management philosophy of "creativity, originality, and challenge," the company is aiming to realize a smart, creative way of working called "smart creation," which has been promoted further than before. It is very impressive to see workers moving between interactive floors and concentration floors depending on the type of work they are doing, working energetically.
Many employees participated in the project, and we were able to have very positive discussions about how to operate our new office, what name to give it to make it a building that people can feel attached to, etc. We are very grateful for the attitude of everyone working together to develop the office, putting a lot of thought into how to attend to the completed office so that people from outside can see it.
