A hospital that serves as a reliable source for the community with its design and hospitality that are close to the hearts of patients and medical staff.

Haga Red Cross Hospital, which provides comprehensive medical services as a core hospital of the medical network in the Tochigi Prefecture East Medical Area under the philosophy of "a hospital that contributes to the community," strengthened its functions as a secondary medical institution in March 2019. A new hospital was built and relocated in order to establish a seamless, community-based medical system. The hospital aims to be a hospital that works together with local residents, incorporating traditional local crafts such as Mooka cotton and Mashiko ware into the design.

Itoki was involved in this project for approximately six years, from the basic design stage to completion, proposing fixtures and planning the layout. Throughout the project, we were able to work closely with the hospital construction office and hospital consulting company.

By having all three companies handle any small meeting with the hospital, we were able to resolve issues on the spot and respond quickly. I also learned a lot, such as the fact that even just an armrest requires consideration depending on the clinical department.

On the day the furniture and fixtures were delivered, hospital staff and project personnel worked together. At that time, I realized that we had been able to build a circle of cooperation over the course of a long project.
