Communicating the university’s mission to the local community and society using the keyword “dream”

In June 2015, Tokyo City University (formerly Musashi Institute of Technology) opened a satellite campus, Futakotamagawa Yume Campus, on the 8th floor of Futakotamagawa Rise Office in Setagaya Ward. The Yume Campus, which takes advantage of its location in Futakotamagawa, which is located approximately halfway between the three campuses scattered in Todoroki, Setagaya, and Yokohama, is a new base of learning for the school, which believes that dreams are the driving force that moves people. .

A 55-inch 8-sided multi-signage system welcomes visitors. Images and content screens can be projected on each of the 4 left and 4 right sides. When you stand on the foot prints on the floor, the motion sensor is activated and the concept video switches to the content screen. The 46-inch touch display on the right side is for content only

Free space

Free space

Free space

A free space overlooking the Tama River and the cityscape. We purposely created a learning space with no partitions, allowing for an emergent learning experience. ``We wanted to create an exciting and interesting place for people who came, so openness was the right choice.'' We hold a variety of events on a daily basis, including science classes that parents and children can participate in as well as courses for adults.

Movable partition

A movable partition that separates free space. By holding multiple events while loosely sharing the space, learning is not separated, leading to a synergistic effect such as expanding interests.

One corner of the free space is used as a workshop. Equipped with the latest equipment such as 3D printers, you can engage in manufacturing and experiments. The work table is made of unpainted oak wood. We chose solid wood so that the scratches and graffiti left during work would become memories for the children.
