Kita City, Tokyo Municipal Miyakonokita Gakuen (integrated elementary and junior high school)

Kita Ward has formulated the "Kita Ward School Family Initiative" and has been implementing "integrated elementary and junior high school education based on the school family" in all schools since 2012. In addition, the revised School Education Act was passed in 2015 to institutionalize integrated elementary and junior high schools that provide a consistent 9-year compulsory education from elementary to junior high school, and "compulsory education schools" are classified as schools in Article 1 of the act, just like elementary and junior high schools, and can be introduced at the discretion of each ward, city, town, and village. In light of this background, it has been decided to establish Kita Ward Miyako no Kita Gakuen as an integrated elementary and junior high school with an integrated facility that will serve as a driving force for integrated elementary and junior high education in Kita Ward, with the aim of enriching and developing integrated elementary and junior high education in Kita Ward. (The merger of Kamiya Junior High School, Kamiya Elementary School, and Inada Elementary School)
