A new city hall that creates urban development, promising long-term safety and security for citizens

Itoshima City, located in the western part of Fukuoka Prefecture, is a city with a population of approximately 100,000 that was formed in 2010 by the merger of Maebaru City, Nijo Town, and Shima Town.
The main building of Itoshima City Hall is over 50 years old, and the building and facilities are showing signs of aging.
A reconstruction project was carried out to meet the diverse needs of citizens.
The new city hall, which opened in 2024, is a space that fully incorporates the essence of Itoshima and will serve as a base for disseminating a wide range of public services, as well as a reliable disaster prevention center, making it a new anchor for citizens' lives.

For the construction of the new city hall, ITOKI was in charge of the "office environment work survey," which is the basis for office design, and then took on the "wood utilization promotion work" with the aim of utilizing trees cut down in Maruta Park and city-produced timber.

As time passed, the residents began to get used to their new environment, and combined with the comfortable space created by using materials produced in the city, it seems that the initial goals of creating a "government building that is easy for everyone to use" and "a government building that aims to provide better services to citizens" have been achieved for the time being.
At the same time, we want to maintain this environment for as long as possible, and we are aware of the difficulty of maintenance. We would be grateful if Itoki could continue to support us in the future.

The new building is designed around the concept of "Itoshima i," creating a space that visitors can use comfortably and that will lead to increased productivity for staff.

One of the highlights is the space created using furniture made from wood.
