As the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to grow, the circle of gratitude to medical workers has spread among us as well. The movement is to first take care to avoid infection ourselves, and to express our gratitude to the medical workers working on the front lines, while doing what each of us can.
On March 11, 2020, the WHO declared the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, a pandemic. This was about a month before a state of emergency was declared across Japan, and before the number of infected people had increased dramatically. After that, the number of domestic infections increased sharply from late March, and people began to worry about the collapse of the medical system. With no one knowing how the situation would progress from there, it was urgent to protect medical workers from the risk of infection.
Speed is important. Our company also moved ahead with a development project at a rapid pace to give shape to "what we can do as the ITOKI Group."

A groundbreaking system that protects medical workers from droplets at zero distance

Dalton Corporation (ITOKI Group): "Transparent resin protective hood with exhaust"
It has been well known since early on that the new coronavirus is transmitted through droplets. However, medical workers are constantly at risk of coming into contact with those droplets at "zero distance."
For example, when performing tracheal intubation, droplets are likely to be generated by coughing, etc., and medical personnel may be exposed.
The "transparent plastic protective hood with exhaust" developed by Dalton Corporation, a member of the ITOKI Group, is an effective tool for preventing splashes during tracheal intubation. Not only does the transparent plastic hood prevent splashes, but the installation of an exhaust treatment device keeps aerosols trapped inside the transparent plastic hood. It prevents leakage to the outside and treats the exhaust with a HEPA filter.

This is a "HEPA filter partition" for medical facilities equipped with an air purification function.
The inhalation side is sealed and the air is blown out clean. This powerful air purifying function is integrated into the partition, "HEPA Filter Partition." The calculated airflow movement thoroughly protects medical staff who come into contact with patients.
Not only does it offer a lineup of highly antibacterial filters, but it also has features to minimize the risk of contamination when changing filters. It comes with casters so it can be moved smoothly, making it suitable for use in a variety of situations, including during examinations.
This is an item that is perfect for today, filled with the desire to make meetings with patients as safe as possible.

The ITOKI Group will continue to develop products to combat infectious diseases and take on the challenges of the coming "With Corona Era."
My heartfelt gratitude to everyone who is fighting today.
