Itoki will start “childcare leave return to work support funds” from July! Encouraging men to take childcare leave

Becoming a leading company in diversity and inclusion where each and every employee can work with enthusiasm

Starting July 1, 2023, ITOKI CORPORATION (headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato) will begin paying "Childcare Leave Return to Work Support Grants" to employees who return to work after taking childcare leave, according to the number of days taken.

ITOKI `` We Design Tomorrow. We Design WORK-Style.” As a company, we aim to create a work environment where everyone can work with enthusiasm and be themselves, and we provide support for balancing work and childcare. As part of this effort, we have introduced a ``childcare leave reinstatement support'' system.

All directly employed employees who take childcare leave, regardless of gender, will receive a grant based on the length of their childcare leave.

Background of introduction

Since last year, ITOKI has supported the ``100% Childcare Leave Declaration for Men.'' However, while the rate of women taking childcare leave is 100% in previous years, the rate of men taking childcare leave is 45.7% as of 2022, which is still a long way off. In order to analyze the cause, we conducted an internal survey and found that one of the factors preventing employees from taking childcare leave was the ``reduction in income'' caused by taking childcare leave.
Therefore, ITOKI has decided to provide support for the reduction in income in order to provide employees who are raising children with a period of time where they can concentrate on raising their children with peace of mind.

In June of this year, we held interviews with men on childcare leave as an in-house event, and are also working to raise awareness within the company.

About future developments

Itoki will continue to provide training for managers and raise awareness within the company, in order to foster a culture where both men and women can take childcare leave, and will continue to support employees in balancing work and childcare.
