A new symbol that will spearhead educational reform based on the university's founding principles
New Building 7 is located at the intersection of the main routes that run through the Setagaya campus, and will serve as the center of student activity.
It was planned as a complex to house the Faculty of Urban Life Studies and Faculty of Human Sciences, which were previously located on the Todoroki Campus, and has become a new symbol of the Setagaya Campus.
Large and small glass-walled rooms, from which various activities can be seen, are arranged in a corridor shape, with presentation spaces, communication spaces, etc. scattered throughout.
The interior plan is designed to allow students to independently carry out a variety of activities, such as dialogue, work, interaction, and discovery, whether they are doing analog work such as handwriting or digitally sharing information using a PC, whether they are sitting or standing. In addition, by intentionally designing the space with some space, it is expected that students will be involved in the operation of the space and will be able to use it by themselves.
