User's Voice
Chiyoda International School Tokyo (CHIST)
Head of School Mr. Hirokazu Osako
CHIST is attended by children from a variety of nationalities, cultures, religions, and other backgrounds. At international schools, even the layout of the classrooms does not have a forward-facing parallel style like Japanese schools. Itoki carefully considered our ideas and necessary preparations for an international school, and listened to our ideas and worked with us to create the school.
Comment
Based on the architectural design concept of "linden tree," the international school's fixtures are designed to express internationalism, with the keywords Growth (physical growth), Diversity (colors that express diversity), and Quality (high-quality furniture). We proposed the creation of a space and furniture that resembles the growth of a tree that brings understanding of learning.
In today's regular classrooms, learning spaces are developed in a variety of ways by teachers and students. Through this project, I also learned that there are more ways to learn than I had expected.
