Cretta

Cretta is a series of modular learning furniture designed to adapt to the changing lifestyles and learning styles of children as they grow.

Cretta - Changes due to growth

ITOKI, the first company in Japan to manufacture study desks, has developed a new series of learning furniture based on the concept of "learning furniture that accompanies your child's growth." The kids' desk for preschool children can be reconfigured into a storage rack as they grow older, and additional storage items can be purchased as needed, allowing for flexible adaptation to the increasing number of belongings and changes in learning styles as children get older. Furthermore, it features a simple and light design with minimal ornamentation so that it can be used for a long time regardless of location.

Cretta - Flexible and easy to use

The background of Kretta's development

Traditional children's desks have a short lifespan, often being discarded after just a few years as children grow. Instead of furniture that's thrown away quickly, we developed a desk that accompanies children as they grow, creating lasting memories and being cherished for years to come. At Cretta, we emphasize fostering independence, rich sensibilities, and creativity through experiences like organizing tools to suit their needs, creating their favorite spaces, and learning to use things carefully for a long time. By designing desks to be used for extended periods, deepening attachment as children grow, we aim to support their free thinking and spontaneous learning.

For many years, Itoki has been dedicated to creating learning environments for children. In recent years, we have been continuously engaged in learning surveys and information dissemination to understand the changes in children's living environments and learning styles. Cretta is a product developed by leveraging over 60 years of history in developing learning desks and the knowledge gained from these latest research activities.

About the Kids Design Award

The Kids Design Award was established in 2007 with the aim of selecting outstanding products, services, spaces, activities, and research that fulfill the objectives of "children taking part in creating the next society," "children developing rich sensibilities and creativity," "children living safely and securely every day," and "everyone participating in child-rearing as an active participant," and disseminating these to society at large.
This includes not only products designed specifically for children, but also products developed for adults and the general public, as long as they are designed with children and childcare in mind.

We Design WORK-Style." the company manufactures and sells office furniture, designs office spaces, provides work style consulting and office data analysis services, and also supports the creation of various “Space," “Environment," and “Place" by leveraging its strength in "AI x Design based on people."

In our learning environment business, we have been focusing on children's "learning environments" for over 60 years since we launched Japan's first steel study desk for home use in 1962. We are constantly working to create products that meet the needs of the times, including study desks, chairs that support good posture as children grow, and storage furniture that fosters tidying skills. We will continue to support the healthy growth of children and work to create environments that foster a better learning future.
