GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2018
A total of four products developed by ITOKI have won the Good Design Award at the 2018 Good Design Awards (sponsored by the Japan Design Promotion Organization, a public interest incorporated foundation).

① A compact and friendly chair that can be placed in a home dining room. It blends well into casual office spaces and creates a relaxed atmosphere.
②In order to prevent the space from looking cluttered when a large number of chairs are lined up, the module was set so that the height of the chairs is slightly lower than the height of the table top. The shell is rounded to make it look more compact than it actually is, and the rear of the seat is recessed so that you can sit with your smartphone, long wallet, etc.

Despite its compact size, I was impressed with how comfortable it was to sit on. I imagine that the design was carefully developed by repeatedly considering the shape of the shell structure and the hardness of the resin. The shape is slightly larger and rounded, and the height is lower to reduce the feeling of pressure and create a soft impression even in scenes with a lot of space. The thin steel legs are also finished in matte black for a lighter and smarter look, making it an easy-to-use chair. The attention to design was given to the stacking cover attached to the back of the seat, which left a good impression.
Move Rack ETT (Flat Handle Type)

This manually operated movable shelf has a flat handle mechanism and is finished with colored glass for the exterior, achieving functionality and design suitable for use in open spaces. It can efficiently create storage space near work areas without creating a dedicated storage area such as a warehouse. In addition, the handle can be folded up and made flat when not in use, so there are no protrusions and it is safe even when installed along the line of traffic.

The company was highly praised for developing mobile shelves that can be used as furniture placed in open spaces or as part of walls, rather than as storage equipment in warehouses. Care has been taken to ensure that there are no protrusions when not in use, and details such as surface texture and joints are highly accurate, making it a high quality tool that can be placed in your living space.

The executive desk, which is intended for executives and therefore tends to be an item that shows the company's hierarchy with authoritative details and materials, is positioned as a personal desk, and is suitable for use in open spaces where executives and senior executives work together with general employees. .
A large-capacity hanger rack that follows the design of the whiteboards and partitions in the series and is intended for use in the same space as them. The legs feature inline skate wheels repurposed as casters. An attachment panel that can be attached to a multitasking meeting table that can also be used as a desk for a hot desking or a dining table. Available in two sizes, it can also be used as a panel for table tennis. An accessory that adds a fun touch to the office.

Perhaps it is because they are executives that they are authoritative. The desks used by executives in the open space where they work together with regular employees also adhere to the brand's common philosophy of "reducing details as much as possible," and are made to be appropriate by applying difficult and unusual processing techniques that leave no room for error. The attachment panels on hot desking desks and multitasking meeting tables can also be used as a net for a ping pong table. Accessories that add a fun touch to the office are also proposed.

The number of office spaces with a different taste, such as renovated offices and co-working spaces, is steadily increasing, and the needs for office furniture are also diversifying. The needs of a variety of users for ``a taste that does not resemble office furniture'' may be complicated for professional office furniture companies, but on the other hand, it may be an opportunity to break the conventional wisdom of the existing category, which is a super-mature market. This product is a challenging product with a diverse lineup that meets these needs while making use of the office furniture know-how cultivated over the years. If possible, we would like you to not only give form to trendy tastes, but also further analyze and research the essential new needs for office spaces and changes in comfort, and create a new category of furniture design.
