ITOKI Manufacturing
Design, materials, colors, and finishes.
ITOKI's manufacturing is always focused on pursuing functionality that is gentle on people.
It has a sophisticated design that catches your eye at first sight, and is comfortable thanks to its thorough ergonomic design.
We will introduce how ITOKI products are made using advanced technology and expert experience.

Four things that Itoki values
Manufacturing is not just about making things pretty or easy to use. With this in mind, ITOKI's products are created with a focus on design that conveys sophistication and comfort, gentleness to the body, and consideration for Planet. Here we introduce the four areas that ITOKI values as a result of its commitment: "product design," "CMF design," "ergonomics," and "environmental consideration."

1Product Design
ITOKI's product designs are infused with cutting-edge technology, expert experience, and a sensibility that pursues sophistication. They are constantly incorporating new trends by being exposed to the latest designs from overseas on a daily basis, while also valuing the craftsmanship they have cultivated over their long history. The products that ITOKI produces are not only highly designed on their own, but also have unparalleled beauty that harmonizes with the interior of an office when placed there. These appeals have earned them high praise at design awards both in Japan and overseas, and they have won numerous awards.

Winner of many of the world's highest design awards
ITOKI's products have won many of the world's highest design awards, such as the Good Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, and iF DESIGN AWARD, for their high design quality. They are highly regarded not only for their beauty, but also for their functionality, which takes into account the movements and feelings of the user. ITOKI will continue to deliver products that make workers feel comfortable and proud.
Good Design Award

Red Dot Design Award

iF DESIGN AWARD
iF DESIGN AWARD
Organized by Germany's iF International Forum Design, this is one of the world's largest design awards. It has received high praise from experts around the world for its design, functionality, and environmental friendliness, and has won numerous awards.

2. CMF Design
CMF stands for Color (C), Material (M), and Finish (F). As the name suggests, it is the three major elements that make up the "surface" of an item, expressing color, material, and finish in total. In fact, ITOKI is a pioneer in CMF design. Since the 1990s, we have been seriously considering the ideal form of CMF that matches the times.
Comfort cannot be created if any of the CMF elements are missing. Relaxing colors for relaxing occasions, natural materials for places where you want to feel warm, and smooth, curved furniture for places where you want to gather in harmony... Experience the true comfort that only ITOKI, which thoroughly values CMF design, can create.

ITOKI SENSE is a unique concept that was created to clarify the guiding principles of Itoki's longstanding commitment to the importance of CMF design. It has been a symbol of CMF that is in tune with the "now" while constantly incorporating market trends and the mood of the times. ITOKI SENSE is expressed in concrete images through four themes: "Gentle," "Harmony," "Timeless," and "Curiosity. From these, an image of office trends that reflect the times emerges.

3 Ergonomics
(Ergonomics)
By thoroughly studying the "human body" that uses the furniture, ITOKI is able to provide furniture that is suited to people in any situation. Itoki believes that the key to achieving this is to create products that thoroughly consider "ergonomics." When you are concentrating, what is the fulcrum and where does it move? What about when you want to refresh yourself? By combining countless observations of such behavior, data analysis using the latest technology by a specialized team, and the know-how that Itoki has accumulated over the years, we create "ease of use" that is based on unshakable evidence.
"Behavioral Observation" to Learn Everything About Human Movements
"Behavioral Observation" to Learn Everything About Human Movements
Human movement and behavior are observed from various perspectives. Ideas such as "this function matches this movement" and "this type of movement brings comfort" are born here. That's why ITOKI furniture is packed with functions that incorporate human movement. For example, "this posture is likely to be adopted when working for long periods of time, so this chair should move around this point as a fulcrum to accommodate that," or "people gathering around this table would find it annoying if their legs were here, so let's think about the positioning." These are some of ITOKI's unique features, with structures that anticipate the movements of users in great detail.

Quantifying human movement
Quantifying human movement
One of the sections that supports the technology behind our manufacturing is a team of ergonomic specialists called the Ergonomics Laboratory. They are specialists in quantifying and visualizing human movement and the strain it places on the body. Using the latest technology, they can, for example, color-code where weight is placed on a chair to turn it into data. They perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to determine what needs to be improved to make the product more comfortable to use. The products that have been the result of countless improvements based on this data are truly an amazing fit to the human body.
Come experience comfort that is backed by science.

Know-how accumulated over a long period of time
Know-how accumulated over a long period of time
Advanced technology can only survive with the practical know-how of people. Itoki believes this and carefully passes on the knowledge born from manufacturing experience accumulated over many years.
To achieve both advanced design and safe strength, a certain structure is necessary... This is the combination of a series of know-how that allows us to manufacture high-quality products. This is the great appeal of product manufacturing, which can only be achieved by ITOKI, which combines "advanced" and "experience."

4. Consideration of the environment
No matter how stylish something may be, we do not want to create something that will burden the future. With this belief, ITOKI is seriously working on environmental considerations. For example, we have a lineup of various eco-friendly products, such as the "Refelt" chair, which is made by turning used PET bottles into fibers and weaving them into felt-like fabric, giving it a stylish form, and the "Meat Lounge Sustainable" table, which uses kenaf, a sustainable plant that absorbs a large amount of carbon dioxide, for its top. We hope that such gentle furniture will adorn the office spaces of the future... With this wish in mind, ITOKI will continue to create products.

Meet strict standards and certifications
You want to choose an environmentally friendly product, but you don't know how to choose... In times like these, standards and certifications are a great guide. ITOKI has established strict voluntary standards, "ITOKI Eco Level," to further consider the environment, and publishes products that meet these standards. In addition, we have a large selection of products that have been certified with the strict US environmental standard, "Greenguard Certification (GOLD Certification)." This is a lineup that we can proudly recommend as "When it comes to SDGs office furniture, it's ITOKI."
ITOKI Eco Level

"Eco Level" is a strict voluntary standard that ITOKI has established to further consider the environment. It has set five guidelines, including "reducing greenhouse gas emissions," and publishes products that meet these guidelines.
