Precautions when replacing batteries

About the batteries to be used

  • Be sure to use new alkaline batteries.

Depending on the battery type, some may not perform optimally.
It is recommended to use genuine alkaline batteries provided by electrical equipment manufacturers.

<Examples of batteries that may not perform optimally>

  • Manganese battery
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Batteries other than genuine products from electrical equipment manufacturers
  • Batteries with long life and high power
  • Stocked batteries
  • When replacing batteries, replace all four (or two depending on the location) at the same time, using the same manufacturer as much as possible.
  • When the indoor temperature drops during winter or long holidays, the battery may become cold and its output may decrease.
Warming the battery in the palm of your hand may help it function.

If the device still does not respond even after replacing the batteries with new ones, please check the battery manufacturer and brand and contact our Customer Service Center (+81-120-164177, Guidance No. 1).

Location and function of batteries

Most safes have two battery compartments: one on the front of the door (four AA batteries) and one on the back of the door (two AA batteries or a square 9V battery).
The batteries that usually need to be replaced in case of trouble opening or closing the door are the ones on the front of the door (four AA batteries)..

The batteries behind the door (two AA batteries or a square 9V battery) have different functions depending on the model.

Models with "OP" and "CL" or "OPEN" and "CLOSE" buttons This is an alarm battery that sounds an alarm buzzer when an attack on the safe (lock picking, etc.) is detected.
Models with "P" and "#" buttons This is a spare battery for storing your PIN code.

About the life of batteries

With about 5 openings and closings per day, the batteries will last approximately one year. Even if they are functioning properly, we recommend replacing them once a year.
