We will accelerate the company-wide shift to AI and train over 100 engineers to become AI professionals.

ITOKI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Chief AI Officer (CAIO) position to accelerate its transformation by placing AI at the core of its management, and that Takashi Takeuchi, who will be promoted to Senior Executive Officer on July 1, 2026, assumed the position on the same day.

Our company views AI not merely as a means of improving operational efficiency, but as a crucial theme for transforming management decisions, business processes, talent development, and customer value creation. As the head of the DX division, Takeuchi will be responsible for promoting the company-wide AI strategy, developing the AI utilization platform, strengthening AI governance, implementing AI into internal operations, and developing AI talent. Under CAIO, we will promote company-wide AX (AI Transformation) and enhance the execution capabilities of management strategies based on the AI shift.

Background of the establishment of CAIO

With advancements in technologies such as generative AI, AI has become a key management theme that influences a company's competitiveness and organizational capabilities. Beyond simply deciding which tasks to implement AI in, how companies connect their existing data, human resources, and business processes to AI utilization is a crucial challenge that will determine future growth.

For our company, whether or not to implement AI is no longer a matter for debate. What's important is how to use AI safely and practically to drive business transformation and create value for our customers.

In January 2026, our company announced a management strategy to shift towards AI, stating our policy of "placing AI at the core of our management." Furthermore, by revamping our core systems to cloud-based ERP, we have connected data from supply chain to accounting and management, and are making progress in developing a company-wide data infrastructure that will serve as the foundation for AI utilization.

Against this backdrop, Itoki has established the position of Chief AI Officer (CAIO) to be responsible for transforming the use of AI into an execution capability for its business strategy.

The role that CAIO will play

As the person responsible for driving Itoki's company-wide AI strategy, CAIO will lead the development of the AI utilization infrastructure and internal implementation, with the DX Headquarters at its core. Their main responsibilities are as follows:

- Formulation and promotion of a company-wide AI strategy
- Development of AI utilization infrastructure and data utilization infrastructure
- Development of AI governance, security, and usage rules
- Implementation of generative AI and SaaS-native AI into internal business operations
- Cultivating AI talent and fostering a culture of AI utilization
- Creation and implementation support for AI utilization themes in each department
- Company-wide deployment of AI utilization knowledge gained internally.

Under the leadership of CAIO, we will not limit AI to initiatives in specific departments, but will connect it to company-wide business transformation. The DX Headquarters will be responsible for the foundation and promotion functions of AI utilization, and by creating a system that enables each department to utilize AI in its respective operations and customer touchpoints, we will accelerate company-wide AX.

Regarding the promotion system for AI-driven management

Takashi Takeuchi, Senior Managing Executive Officer, joined Itoki in October 2023 with the aim of promoting DX (Digital Transformation). He has over 20 years of experience in enterprise SaaS at foreign companies such as Oracle Japan, and his strengths lie in his deep knowledge and consulting skills regarding DX and the subscription economy.

At our company, I oversee the DX Headquarters, driving the renewal of core systems and IT infrastructure, the development of a company-wide data utilization platform, and the transformation of business processes. Moving forward, as CAIO, I will strengthen the strategy and implementation system for the safe and practical use of AI throughout the company, based on the data and IT infrastructure we have developed so far.

Furthermore, our company employs over 100 engineers, and we will train these individuals to become AI engineers and AI experts, thereby strengthening the human resource base that supports the use of AI in each department.

Priority areas to be promoted under the new system

1. Promoting company-wide AX

We will expand the use of generative AI and SaaS-native AI in our internal operations to enhance the sophistication and productivity of a wide range of tasks, including document creation, information retrieval, sales support, marketing, customer support, design and proposal work, and management.

2. Development of a secure AI utilization platform

We will establish an AI platform that allows for the secure use of internal information, creating an environment where accumulated knowledge within the company—including regulations, manuals, past documents, proposals, and design information—can be utilized across the board. Simultaneously, we will establish rules and governance regarding AI use, aiming to create a situation where all employees can use AI with confidence.

3. Cultivating AI talent and fostering a culture of utilizing AI

To ensure that AI is not something handled only by a select group of specialists, but something that all employees can utilize in their work, we will promote the development of AI talent through training, community activities, and the sharing of practical case studies. In particular, we will train our more than 100 engineers to become AI engineers and AI experts, strengthening our system to support the company's AI utilization from a technical standpoint.

4. Business transformation utilizing the company-wide data infrastructure

Leveraging the data infrastructure established through the renewal of core systems and IT infrastructure, we will connect business data such as quotations, sales, accounting, inventory, and customer contacts to the use of AI. This will not only improve operational efficiency but also promote sophisticated decision-making and cross-departmental value creation.

5. Alignment with AI-driven business strategies

Under our AI-driven business strategy, we are working not only to implement AI in our internal operations but also to improve the value we provide to our customers in terms of office design and work styles.

In our solution development business, including the AI solution "ITOKI OFFICE AI AGENTS," we leverage the office data and facility management expertise we have accumulated, and are leading the development ourselves. CAIO will support the AI development of these business divisions from the perspectives of company-wide AI strategy, AI utilization platform, AI governance, and talent development.

Takashi Takeuchi's comment

AI is not merely a means of improving operational efficiency; it is a foundation that fundamentally transforms a company's competitiveness. It has the power to dramatically change corporate decision-making, business processes, work styles, and the creation of customer value.

At Itoki, we have been working to develop a data infrastructure that will serve as the foundation for AI utilization through the renewal of our core systems and IT infrastructure. Moving forward, we will leverage this infrastructure to create an environment where all employees can safely and effectively utilize AI, and to train our more than 100 engineers to become core personnel for AI utilization.

As CAIO, I will drive the company-wide AI strategy from the DX Headquarters and disseminate the knowledge gained within the company to the entire organization. By placing AI at the core of our management, we will accelerate Itoki's own transformation and connect it to the creation of new value for our customers.
