Itoki develops "Artivista," a new wall-mounted display case that supports improving the viewing experience at art museums and museums.
It achieves both a flat design and 100% openness, and also supports curators' exhibition work.
ITOKI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato) has developed a new wall-mounted display case as a new product in its high-performance display case "Artivista" series, which combines a flat design with 100% opening.
In art museums and museums, the appearance and impression of artworks can change dramatically depending on the glass of the display cases, the lighting, and the harmony with the exhibition space. To convey the appeal of the artworks to visitors, the design of the entire exhibition environment plays a crucial role, not just the exhibits themselves. Furthermore, when changing exhibits, a working environment is required that allows curators to handle valuable cultural artifacts and works of art and crafts safely and carefully.
The new wall-mounted display case we developed aims to achieve both an environment that enhances the appeal of the artwork and improved work efficiency for curators. A unique structure that incorporates a rail mechanism into the glass door itself allows for a flat, seamless design without any protrusions on the top or bottom of the case, while also enabling a 100% opening of the display surface.

"Artivista" Wall Display Case
Features of the new wall-mounted display case
1. An exhibition environment that brings out the appeal of the artwork.
The Artivista series utilizes high-transparency laminated glass with an anti-reflective coating. By minimizing reflections while achieving high transparency, it provides an environment where the original colors, textures, and details of the artwork can be naturally appreciated. It is also compatible with OLED lighting, allowing for soft lighting effects tailored to the artwork and exhibition content. Furthermore, the new wall-mounted display cases feature a flat design with minimal top and bottom protrusions, enhancing harmony with the exhibition space.
2. Achieving both a flat design and 100% openness.
Conventional wall-mounted display cases require structural elements at the top and bottom of the case for opening and closing mechanisms, making it challenging to achieve a flat, integrated design with the wall. The newly developed wall-mounted display case employs a unique structure that incorporates a rail mechanism within the glass door itself. This eliminates the need for structural protrusions at the top and bottom of the case, achieving a flat design while also enabling a 100% opening of the display surface.
During exhibition changes, it is not uncommon to handle valuable cultural artifacts and works of art and crafts, including national treasures and important cultural properties. Ensuring sufficient workspace is crucial for safely transporting these works in and out without them coming into contact with the display case frames or doors. This product supports curators in loading, unloading, and setting up exhibits by allowing the entire display surface to be opened.
3. High airtightness to support the exhibition environment
The Artivista series boasts high airtightness. Furthermore, it supports optional humidity control and air purification systems, helping to create an environment tailored to the exhibited items.
