ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato) has won a total of seven awards in the 2025Good Design Awards,sponsored by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, a public interest​ ​incorporated foundation: four for products, two for spaces, and one for brands.

Itoki has launched a new furniture brand based on the concept of "Ingenious design." The products, created in collaboration with globally active designers, are a driving force behind creating new value in the workplace.

When people work, the environment and space they work in can have a significant impact on the efficiency and quality of their work. The design process and thinking behind the brand logotype are convincing, and the finished product is simple and beautiful. You can sense the brand vision of creating an environment and space where diverse people can perform to their full potential. Overall, it has a universal and creative appeal as globally deployed branding that presents the worldview of beautiful and original products.

This sofa is made up of blocks of different sizes connected by a single edge, creating a unique appearance. The top surface can be used as a simple table, armrest, backrest, or even as a seat. Although it is a single module, by combining and arranging the blocks in an intersecting pattern, it allows for communication in any direction, including parallel, face-to-face, and diagonal.

Composed of a combination of large and small blocks, this sofa is a simple yet powerful product. The floating small blocks not only function as tables and seats, but are also structured to allow for combinations in various directions. As a product that encourages communication between people from multiple directions and creates movement and interaction in the space, it was highly praised for its high expandability from a single module and the visual appeal of the color combinations. It is a product that brings individuality and flexibility to the space and stimulates the user's creativity.

Centra is a big table where people can gather and spend time together as they like.
The design combines stability and freedom, making it suitable for both solitary moments of deep reflection and relaxed conversation. The thick legs and low beams create a sense of solidity, naturally drawing the eye downward and giving the space a sense of calm. Meanwhile, the structure, with a single leg supporting the edge, creates a sense of openness within the solidity, giving it a light impression. Furthermore, the shape of the tabletop and the structure of the main body are woven with functionality to support an appropriate distance from others and comfortable work, but without forcing a specific use on the user, it exists as a comfortable space, allowing users to naturally create comfortable situations and interactions.

This product is a table that can flexibly accommodate diverse work styles. Its unique tabletop shape and structure, in which the edge of the tabletop is supported by a single leg, give greater freedom in seating position, and its functionality of encouraging natural communication while maintaining a comfortable sense of distance is seamlessly incorporated into the product. It also offers excellent stability, and is available in a wide range of tabletop shapes, colors, and materials. Furthermore, careful consideration has been given to the handling of power and other wiring, and its flexibility to suit different uses and spatial concepts was also highly praised.

DAP (Drug Automatic Picking system) with MediMonitor is an automated drug picking system that streamlines drug picking operations. By integrating drug picking and audit support functions at dispensing pharmacies through the automatic storage and retrieval of drug trays using a small robot and an advanced audit support system, the system helps prevent drug picking errors and alleviates the pharmacist labor shortage.

This manufacturer has over half a century of experience honing picking technology for automated warehouses, and has developed this medication picking device by leveraging that experience. The slim, compact design is considerate of the installation environment, with a straightforward design that minimizes unevenness and a flat surface that blends in with the medicine cabinet, and also takes into consideration on-site traffic flow and cleanability. The main unit is equipped with eight drawers, and a flashing display guides users to the appropriate location to retrieve items, preventing mix-ups. This semi-automates part of the dispensing process, freeing up time for pharmacists to spend with patients. This is an excellent proposal for the future society, where the way pharmacists work will also change.

We commend the careful pursuit of creating a space where employees can work in peace for long periods of time in a showroom-style office that welcomes many visitors. The use of dark tones and enclosed seating arrangements take into consideration line of sight, easing the stress of feeling like one is being "watched." The entrance space, which can also be used for events, has an excellent configuration that deliberately fixes large furniture while utilizing differences in floor levels to create flexibility. Rather than simply seeking variability, the attitude of balancing functionality while maintaining the quality of the space conveys a mature perspective on office design.

In order for TOYO to expand its business and open up a new era, we strengthened its internal branding under the concept of "BLUE PLANeT" and designed a place where diverse employees can come together as one. We will accelerate co-creation and shape a new TOYO.

This head office creates a space where diverse employees can come together, and projects the company's vision for the future. Based on the concept of "BLUE PLANeT," the space neatly expresses the company's philosophy and social message, creating a place where employees can speak with pride. assigned seats has been eliminated, and zoning allows employees to freely choose from a variety of workspaces, encouraging natural interaction and fostering co-creation. The design process, which involved a company-wide workshop, resulted in a high level of completion, while also changing the awareness of employees. The space has been renovated while respecting the beauty of the existing architecture, with a sense of unity in every detail, and functionality and beauty resonate together. This office is a powerful embodiment of the new Toyo Engineering.
