Itoki enters into business partnership with 77 Bank to support customers in utilizing J-Credit
Supporting efforts toward decarbonization, such as reducing CO2 emissions in the region and customers through the use of J-Credit.
We are pleased to announce that ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Minato) has concluded a business partnership with The 77 Bank, Ltd. (Head office: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture; President: Hidefumi Kobayashi) to support clients in utilizing J-Credit. This is the first time that we have concluded a contract with a financial institution in the Tohoku region to provide services in the carbon offset business.
(*) Credits certified by the government for the amount of CO2 and other emissions reduced through the introduction of energy-saving equipment and the use of renewable energy, and the amount of CO2 and other emissions absorbed through appropriate forest management.
Itoki started a carbon offset business in 2011 after participating in the 2010 Carbon Footprint System pilot project. As the need for J-Credit is rapidly increasing, as a J-Credit provider, we are working to help our client companies achieve their carbon neutrality goals, report on and utilize global initiatives, and utilize carbon offset products and services. We have provided services such as providing a wide variety of credits and supporting their creation.
This time, in collaboration with 77 Bank, whose head office is located in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, we will support efforts toward decarbonization, such as reducing CO2 emissions in the region and customers through the use of J-Credit.
ITOKI will continue to work on developing various services to revitalize the J-Credit system and realize a carbon-neutral society.
