ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshiro Hirai) participated in the opening ceremony of DOCOMO 5G Open Lab® GUAM, a permanent 5G technology verification environment established by NTT DOCOMO, INC. (hereinafter, DOCOMO) on the island of Guam to create new usage scenarios utilizing the fifth generation mobile communications standard (hereinafter, 5G).

At this opening ceremony, a demonstration was held connecting ITOKI's Tokyo office (Tsukishima) with "DOCOMO 5G Open Lab® GUAM," where a 5G environment is actually in operation, and 3D remote communication technology using MR (Mixed Reality) equipment, which is being jointly researched with HoloLab Inc. Human images and audio captured by a 3D sensor installed in Japan were transmitted to the MR equipment via the internet, via the 5G system actually in operation at DOCOMO 5G Open Lab GUAM, and via a Wi-Fi access point installed on-site.

ITOKI is participating in the "DOCOMO 5G Open Partner Program," which provides information on 5G technology and specifications and hosts 5G Partner Workshops where partners can exchange ideas. Itoki will continue to create scenarios for workers to utilize 5G in an environment where 5G is realized, and propose new "work styles."
