Itoki introduces childcare and housework subsidy system, providing eligible employees with up to 50,000 yen per month

Reduce the burden of balancing work and childcare, encouraging employees to continue working and improve engagement

ITOKI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato) introduced a system in March 2026 to partially subsidize the cost of childcare and housekeeping services as an initiative to support employees in balancing work and childcare and encourage them to continue working. Employees who meet certain requirements will receive a subsidy of up to 50,000 yen per month for actual costs. The system aims to reduce the burden of balancing work and childcare, and to create an environment in which employees can confidently pursue their careers and continue working.

Background and purpose of introducing the system

In recent years, while the number of dual-income households has increased and working styles have become more diverse, the period from preschool to the early years of elementary school (around third grade) is considered a time when the burden of both work and home life is likely to increase due to changes in the childcare environment and the stabilization of children's daily rhythms. The burden of balancing work and home life during this period can affect motivation to continue working and performance. In aiming for sustainable growth as a company, creating an environment where each employee can feel secure and demonstrate their abilities is one of the important management challenges.

Itoki has been promoting flexible work styles and improving the workplace environment, including working at My Place and reduced hours/shift work for childcare and nursing care. This time, as a more realistic support measure, it has introduced this system to subsidize the costs of using childcare and housekeeping services. This system will be rolled out company-wide based on the results of an advance trial conducted in some departments. Through this system, it aims to reduce the burden of balancing childcare and work, and to encourage continued employment and improve engagement.

Overview of childcare and housework assistance measures

Under this system, if eligible employees who meet certain requirements need to use external services on a daily basis for childcare or housework, they can apply for assistance after using the service and receive subsidies to the extent that they meet the conditions.

Monthly limit: 50,000 yen
Subsidy method: Actual cost reimbursement (salary payment, taxable)

・Housekeeping (cleaning, cooking, etc.)

Future outlook

This system is one of our efforts to support employees in balancing work and child-rearing. We will continue to make improvements based on the status of operation and employee feedback, leading to more effective support.

Itoki will continue to promote the creation of an environment in which employees can continue to demonstrate their abilities regardless of their stage in life.
