Itoki Announces Three AI Agent Groups, "ITOKI OFFICE AI AGENTS," Shifting to an Industry-First "AI Management Model"
We utilize our data-driven office construction and operation track record for over 160 companies, 30,000 sheets of design data per year, and facility management knowledge in AI development to transform work styles and offices into high-speed cycles.
ITOKI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato) is taking on the challenge of shifting to "AI Management," placing AI at the core of management, with all 4,000 employees taking on the challenge. Itoki is also pleased to announce that it has developed a new Office 3.0 solution, "ITOKI OFFICE AI AGENTS," which will be central to this effort and will be gradually rolled out starting this year. This service, consisting of three AI solutions, will create a system that enables client companies to make sophisticated office investment decisions and implement high-cycle workstyles on their own.
Background: The need for more sophisticated and fast-cycling decision-making
The rapid evolution of generative AI is bringing about the biggest transformation in work styles since the advent of the Internet. As business processes and decision-making methods are being redesigned, work styles themselves are also undergoing major transformation. Accordingly, the roles and functions required in the work environment are also continuing to change. Failure to adapt to these changes could lead to a decline in productivity and competitiveness.
In this environment, the operational aspects of offices are being strengthened, with the idea that "once you've built it, it's finished" and "the real work begins after it's built," and they are being positioned as management resources that need to be continuously optimized. As a result, there is a demand for clear cost-effectiveness in office investments.
Meanwhile, the amount of office and management-related data that needs to be utilized is rapidly increasing, and analysis is becoming more sophisticated and complex. Compared to before we began using data, the amount of data is 17,000 times greater, and the complexity is up to 270 million times greater. Manual decision-making cannot keep up with the speed, and new challenges have emerged, making it difficult to maximize return on investment.
ITOKI OFFICE AI AGENTS: Providing three innovative AI solutions
Against this backdrop, we have begun full-scale efforts to "create a system in which AI will enable more advanced and rapid-cycle management decisions regarding offices and work styles." Building on our track record of supporting the construction and operation of data-driven offices for over 160 companies, our annual collection of approximately 30,000 sheets of design data and various office data, and our knowledge of office design and facility management accumulated over many years, we have developed "ITOKI OFFICE AI AGENTS" as a new solution that combines AI and human wisdom. This solution offers three innovative AI solutions:
(1) Facility Portfolio AI
This AI agent calculates the optimal floor space, number of seats, layout, and cost structure, and simulates site reorganization. It integrates Wi-Fi data, conference system, schedule information, and more to perform a three-dimensional analysis of the actual usage of multiple sites, for example, up to 100 locations. By presenting site consolidation, dispersion, and reorganization options with specific numerical values, it significantly reduces the time required to consider facility strategies and helps speed up management decision-making.
(2) Workplace Insight AI
It analyzes a wide range of information, including unstructured data such as blueprints, photos, surveys, and management policy documents, in one go, and structurally extracts office issues and areas for improvement. It also automatically compares with similar cases, predicts the effects of improvements, and calculates ROI, providing highly effective decision-making information for management and general affairs departments.
(3) Space Matching AI
Based on seating information, behavioral trends, and usage history, available spaces are identified in real time and immediately announced to users. Unused reservations are automatically released and reallocated according to demand, reducing stress caused by a lack of conference rooms and seats and improving space utilization rates. A major feature is the linking of physical space with digital data.
These AI solutions can be implemented individually depending on the issue at hand. Management can instantly assess the return on investment numerically, and general affairs departments can reduce the burden of complex analysis. Employees can achieve a comfortable and efficient working style, and customers themselves can implement sophisticated "high-cycle operations" based on data.
Furthermore, the company has placed emphasis on proof-of-concept from the development stage, and has built the system through over 30 proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to date. The company conducts in-house verification and incorporates the knowledge gained into customer services. The company has built a circular model in which the results are then used again to support customers. This "internal and external circulation" is a distinctive feature of the system, as it strives to continuously improve value.
Future developments
We are shifting from "Tech x Design based on PEOPLE" to "AI x Design based on PEOPLE," and our entire company, consisting of approximately 4,000 employees, will take on the challenge of AI management. By further evolving Office 3.0 and leveraging the strengths of our solutions business, which can implement optimal AI solutions derived from data and expert knowledge as "tangible results" in actual office spaces, we will continue to support companies in improving their work styles, office productivity, and creativity.
Comment from President and CEO Koji Minato
We believe that in the coming era, companies that design their management based on AI will be the ones to establish a competitive advantage. Leveraging our strength of approximately 100 IT engineers, we will place AI at the core of our management and steer the company towards a direction that will dramatically improve the quality and speed of decision-making.
"ITOKI OFFICE AI AGENTS" is a next-generation system that combines continuous monitoring, high-precision simulation, and specialized knowledge to identify any issues that may be hidden in an organization's current and future office strategies, and allows AI agents to quickly provide improvement measures.
By using AI to drive the office and work styles and establishing a new management model that collaborates with people, we will strongly support the sustainable growth of our client companies.
About the Office 3.0 Project
In our Workplace Business, we view Office 1.0 as the manufacture and sale of office furniture, Office 2.0 as a business that provides space-based solutions, and Office 3.0 as office DX based on work styles that utilize data.
