Itoki relocates its Kansai Logistics Center to "GLP ALFALINK Ibaraki 3" and begins operations on Monday, September 1st

Reorganizing the West Japan supply network to achieve both efficiency and ease of working

ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato) will relocate its Kansai Logistics Center to GLP ALFALINK Ibaraki 3 (Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture) to improve logistics efficiency, and the new center will begin operations on Monday, September 1, 2025.

The Kansai Logistics Center will serve as a base for supplying products to the two prefectures and four prefectures of the Kansai region (Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Shiga, Nara, and Wakayama). This relocation, along with the Shiga Logistics Center (Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture), which supplies products to all of Western Japan, will reorganize the supply network in Western Japan, improving delivery efficiency and the quality of the working environment.

Background to the relocation

The current Kansai Logistics Center has been in operation for approximately 50 years since its opening in October 1975. However, in addition to the building's aging and the need to ensure safety in terms of earthquake resistance, the five-story building had been facing challenges such as reduced work efficiency due to the need for vertical transport.
In light of these circumstances, we have decided to strategically relocate to ensure the continuity and safety of our logistics operations, as well as to build an efficient and sustainable system with an eye to the future. The new facility will have a single floor structure of approximately 6,600m2, shortening transportation times. Furthermore, by linking with the Shiga Logistics Center, we will strengthen our function as a centralized base for the entire western Japan region.

Aims and features of the new base

Restructuring and streamlining the supply network in Western Japan

Taking advantage of its convenient location within 30 minutes of central Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, the base will function as a core base covering a wide area of two prefectures and four prefectures in the Kansai region. In addition to access to major expressways such as the Ibaraki IC on the Meishin Expressway and the Settsu Kita IC on the Kinki Expressway, it also has easy connections to airports and ports, allowing for flexible handling from long-distance transport to urban delivery. In addition, by linking with the Shiga Logistics Center, we are reconstructing a supply network across all of Western Japan. We will establish relay and aggregation functions in the Kansai region similar to those of the Tokyo BASE in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and achieve shorter delivery times and a stable supply through the optimal placement of inventory and transport bases.

Consolidation and sophistication of logistics functions

As a base for centralized management of inventory and delivery of office products and building materials, the new facility will gradually expand its functions after the relocation and aim to streamline inbound and outbound operations. The adoption of a single-floor structure of approximately 6,600m2 will reduce up-and-down transport time, significantly improving work efficiency and optimizing inventory and delivery management as a centralized base.

Balancing securing human resources with a comfortable working environment

We view creating spaces for office workers as an "investment" rather than an "expense," and have pursued designs that keep employees highly engaged and maximize their productivity.

The new base is comprised of an "operation room" to strengthen collaboration with external partners, a "collaborative office" to strengthen internal collaboration and realize a more proactive work style, and a "refreshment space" to contribute to improving staff engagement. In particular, because it is a base where employees and partner companies stay together, emphasis is placed on connections and communication between office workers. Following the "Connecting & Communication" concept adopted at the Tokyo base, wide corridors and shared spaces are provided to promote natural interaction and cross-departmental collaboration.

The "Operation Room" combines achromatic colors with deep colors and high-quality materials to create a calming atmosphere. Meanwhile, the "Collaborative Office" and "Refreshment Space" use neutral colors and simple materials to create a calm, clean impression. Seating is hot desking, with a variety of workspaces available, including counter seats, family restaurant-style seats, booth benches, and cafe tables. We provide an environment where employees can choose their preferred location depending on their work and mood. This freedom and comfort creates a work environment where employees can continue to work comfortably, supporting the retention and long-term success of employees.

Disaster response and strengthening BCP

The new facility uses a seismic isolation structure to ensure safety and business continuity in the event of an earthquake. It is equipped with emergency power generation equipment, and has a system in place to ensure necessary power is available even in the event of a power outage. Furthermore, the location has been selected with a low risk of heavy rain and flooding, minimizing the impact of disasters. These facilities and location conditions will enable us to maintain logistics functions even in emergencies, and build a system to support stable supplies to our customers.
