Creating a stage where workers can thrive. The birth of "NII", a new global office furniture brand.

ITOKI CORPORATION will launch a new office furniture brand, "NII," in Japan on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, and will announce and release the first collection by four globally active designers in sequence.
With our mission statement of We Design Tomorrow. We Design WORK-Style." we have been seriously considering the nature WORK-Style for over 130 years, proposing more fulfilling work styles through the creation of spaces, environments, and places. In this era where we can work at home, in cafes, in hotels, and even while traveling, what role should the office play? There is a demand to redefine and evolve the value of the office as an irreplaceable place of WORK-Style, not just as a comfortable space.
Unique design that encourages creativity and collaboration
NII, which has the concept of "Ingenious design," is a furniture brand that transforms the office into an attractive and lively stage. In collaboration with designers active in Japan and abroad, the brand develops innovative collections that pay attention to every detail of quality, comfort, and craftsmanship. The original design brings energy and inspiration to the space, creating a magnetic place where people naturally gather, connect, and inspire each other. By encouraging thought and collaboration and encouraging challenges, work becomes entertainment and the office evolves into a stage where workers take the lead. Creating new value through the power of design. Creating a stage that will be the driving force behind this is the future that NII aims for.
The new brand "NII" was born to materialize this vision. Under the direction of creative director Hirotaka Tako, the brand will fuse and expand ITOKI's strengths of "Tech x Design based on PEOPLE" to further accelerate its design strategy. As a global brand that opens up new horizons for offices, it will communicate the future of WORK-Style to the world.

We collaborate with globally active designers to create innovative collections with attention to detail in quality, comfort and craftsmanship. The original designs pursued by NII bring about energetic and inspiring spaces, connect people, encourage thought and collaboration, and encourage challenges, becoming the driving force behind the creation of new value.
COLLECTIONS
Ahead of the global launch scheduled for 2026, the first lineup to be announced in Japan is a collection by four designers. AMDL CIRCLE, an architecture studio led by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi, and New York-based designers Todd Bracher, Rodolfo Agrella, and Jun Aizaki / Crème are participating. NII's products are characterized by their original and iconic designs that catch the eye in offices and shared spaces, their expandability that stimulates the user's imagination, and mechanisms that naturally induce communication, and are modular furniture that can flexibly adapt to a variety of work scenes.

BITMAP

This sofa is made up of different sized and large blocks connected by a single edge, creating a unique presence. The small blocks create the surprising effect of appearing to float. The top surface can be used as a simple table, armrest, or backrest, and can even be used to sit on, allowing you to approach it from any direction. Although it is a single module, by combining and arranging the blocks so that they intersect, it allows communication in any direction, including parallel, face-to-face, and diagonal.

DESIGNER’S COMMENT
Rather than forcing people to sit or gather in lounge spaces, BITMAP creates an open framework for exploration. Its modular, pixel-like forms encourage unexpected arrangements and combinations, intuitively shaping the space.
The blocks at higher positions are not only used as seating, but also as a new layer that can be used as a space with various functions. By removing the fixed concept of the conventional sofa, BITMAP encourages a more natural and flexible relationship with the space, whether alone or in a group. In other words, it means rethinking how to tailor a space with flexibility and playfulness.

CONNEXA

This table features an organic structure, with a skeletal frame supporting the glass top at points. Choose from four types of glass tops and five types of frames, and although simple, they can be combined and expanded. They create different spaces when used independently or connected together. While evoking the image of nature, plants, and living creatures, their unassuming appearance opens people's hearts and naturally sparks conversation.

DESIGNER’S COMMENT
CONNEXA was designed with a playful and poetic approach to sharing ideas around a table. The graphical and organic frame is reminiscent of nature and the human skeleton, and its floating structure invites communication between people. The cross-shaped units are connected and expanded to create a sense of presence as a holistic system. The transparent glass top becomes a lake when freestanding and a river when connected, and the dots at the contact points with the structure evoke floating water lilies. This poetic expression enables smooth connections between people in a variety of spaces.

PIGNA

This furniture comes in two styles, a divider and a sofa, and features scaly panels that allow light and air to pass through while blocking views to a moderate degree. You can choose the height that best suits your level of privacy from three types: a low type that allows you to see the surroundings, a middle type that provides just the right amount of privacy, and a high type (divider only) that gently divides the space. The sofa seat is wider than average, allowing for comfortable seating. It encourages communication while maintaining both a connection to the outside space and a sense of privacy inside.

DESIGNER’S COMMENT
PIGNA is a modular piece of furniture that reimagines wooden planks, a signature element in the AMDL CIRCLE design language. The dividers shape the space and atmosphere by providing a backdrop for passageways and views or enclosing informal areas. Together with the sofa, which is wrapped around the curved U-shaped wall, they create a cozy micro-architecture perfect for work and conversation. Individual units can be freely arranged to create passageways, break areas or decorative partitions. PIGNA is a dynamic and evolving system, a new way of shaping workspaces and social spaces.

PARLAMENTO

This modular furniture piece uses four units of different heights to create a space where diverse individuals can come together. The unit, consisting of a low sofa/high sofa reminiscent of ripples in water and a low table/high table, was designed from an ergonomic perspective to allow information to be shared on an equal footing no matter where you are in the space. Its flexible combinations create a space with a sense of unity, and it is suited not only to boardrooms, but also to receptions and communication areas where hospitality is important.

DESIGNER’S COMMENT
PARLAMENTO is inspired by the sculptural form and comfort of 1970s lounge seating. It incorporates a hospitality sensibility while adopting a versatile and dynamic approach that adapts to the fluidity of the modern office. The wide range of configurations and premium materials give it a sophistication not found in typical modular furniture. Designed for the way we gather, work and connect today, the system is at home in professional and hospitality spaces alike, adapting to change, creating a comfortable, effortless and modern atmosphere.
