The low divider "Madomino," which gently divides open spaces and blends in with the space with its high-quality materials, will be released in May 2025 as a perch for office workers.
By placing them on the boundaries of corridors and work areas, they gently divide the space while maintaining an appropriate sense of distance. At the same time, they provide a place where natural conversation can take place and a place where people can work for a short time.
ITOKI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Minato) will launch "Madomino," a low divider that gently divides open spaces and harmonizes with the space with its high-quality materials, making it a perch for office workers, in May 2025.

Development background
The main issues raised in creating offices after hybrid work has taken root include "strengthening communication," "responding to changes in attendance rates," and "securing human resources and improving corporate value." This prompted a fresh look at the nature of co-work areas (such as desks and seats used for other activities) which take up a large portion of the office.
What we felt was necessary were three things: 1. A seamless connection between work and communication. 2. More spaces to be able to be used for multiple purposes in order to accommodate changes in attendance rates. 3. An attractive space that lifts the spirits.
A co-work area is a place where not only office work but also various other activities intersect, so minimum boundaries are necessary to prevent activities from becoming disorganized.
However, if the boundaries are too strong, it can create a sense of claustrophobia and hinder communication.
This product is characterized by its low height, allowing people to sit down even though it is a partition. It is a new type of furniture that divides the space moderately while maintaining an open feeling, and allows people to stop by and communicate temporarily, almost like a "perch." This allows it to flexibly respond to fluctuations in attendance rates, and creates an attractive space that combines a sense of unity in the same space with a comfortable sense of security.
Major features
- 1. Not just a gentle division, but a place for office workers to gather
The low 350mm height of the desk does not block your view and provides just the right amount of separation while maintaining a connection with your surroundings, yet it is not just a partition but a "perch" where you can spend time temporarily. The flat design allows you to sit from any position, and is designed to accommodate a variety of communication styles, such as facing each other or sitting side by side, creating a comfortable distance that is neither too narrow nor too far apart. Furthermore, by using the optional "Nyokitto Top," you can carry out short work tasks, such as replying to emails or participating in web conferences, while moving around.

- 2. Achieving both "high degree of freedom in layout, system reconfigurability" and "noiseless design that looks like a fixture"
By combining the four settings of "left-justified," "center-justified," "right-justified," and "straight line" using the "layout parts and gap covers," you can create a variety of layouts to suit the situation, such as surrounding the big table with an L-shape or creating a boundary between the aisle and the work table. When the layout or purpose changes, you can rearrange the units to flexibly accommodate your work style.
In addition, by connecting the "end" and "connection" parts, the joints of the straight lines are less noticeable, making it look neater as if it were one solid piece. It will match well with symbolic items and highly designed spaces without becoming a distraction.

- 3. Materials that harmonize with the space and have a particular focus on texture
To make the office more comfortable and attractive, we have adopted authentic materials that blend into the space while still allowing you to feel the texture of the material. By using interior materials that are rare in conventional office furniture, we have enhanced the sense of unity between the interior and furniture, providing comfort through both sight and touch. The lineup consists of three items: "plaster finish," "recycled cork," and "stone-grain melamine."

Co-work area products (office desks, seats for other activities, etc.) that can be used together with Madomino
Big customizable table "Centra": Work tables are used in situations where people often switch between individual work and communication, such as discussing things while working, or where people choose their own seats or gather as a team. This big table naturally connects individual work and communication, making it the center of the office where people can gather and spend time as they wish.

Light task chair "Levi one-tone type": In co-working areas, there is a demand for chairs that are not only functional but also have a high-quality, calm atmosphere, so this light task chair has a soft, warm, one-tone body color. The upholstery, body color, and casters are all the same color, so it blends in neatly with the space.
