ITOKI delivers highly functional display case "Artivista" to Tokyo National Museum

Equipped with cutting-edge technology that balances the beauty and preservation of cultural assets

ITOKI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Minato) has newly delivered the highly functional display case "Artivista" to the Tokyo National Museum. This product has been continuously delivered since 2023, and this year the museum has once again introduced an exhibition case that brings together cutting-edge technology.

The two types of display cases delivered this time are a lantern-type display case with a high openness rate of 90% on one side, and a high case with an openness rate of 90% on each side. Both are designed to bring out the beauty of the exhibits to the fullest, and the high case is large, measuring 3 meters wide, 1.2 meters deep, and 2.7 meters high. Both types are equipped with illuminated display stands that can be raised and lowered electrically.

Both cases use highly transparent laminated glass with a low-reflection coating that does not impede viewing of the exhibits. The delicate expressions and appearances of precious cultural properties such as Buddhist statues can be viewed more beautifully and in their natural state.

Furthermore, careful consideration was given to the air environment and humidity control inside the case. The display floor is made of environmentally friendly materials, and the case is equipped with a built-in data logger. The airtight performance ensures an air exchange rate of 0.03 times per day, and a sliding seismic isolation mechanism is also installed as a countermeasure against earthquakes. The minimalist glass door mechanism maximizes the glass surface, creating a space where visitors can simply face the exhibits themselves, as in an "exhibition case that has been erased."

This display case creates a clear space that makes you feel like you are "with Buddha," improving the quality of the cultural property viewing experience. ITOKI will continue to provide cutting-edge display solutions to protect and convey artworks of high historical and cultural value.
