ITOKI Headquarters "ITOKI DESIGN HOUSE" receives Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Agricultural Industry Bureau Director-General's Award as a pioneering example of indoor greening

Providing the "comfortable shade" of trees in the office: Indoor greening practices that support human capital management highly praised

ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato), which has long been committed to greening offices and proposing solutions for them, is pleased to announce that its head office working showroom, ITOKI DESIGN HOUSE, has won the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Agricultural Industry Bureau Director-General's Award at the Indoor Greening Contest 2025, sponsored by the Indoor Greening Promotion Council. The award was highly praised for creating an office space that harmonizes with the plants, appropriate planting management, and spatial design that contributes to human capital management.

"ITOKI DESIGN HOUSE", which reopened in November 2024, is a place to design tomorrow's WORK-Style, which is our company's mission statement. As part of realizing a comfortable environment, we have used our knowledge to create an office space that incorporates a lot of natural light and greenery. The plants were designed together with Green Display Co., Ltd. (Head office: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Zenta Mochizuki). Rather than being simply decorative, by combining them with furniture, they function as spatial elements that support the practice of ABW (Activity Based Working), gently dividing the space so that you can choose an environment according to your activity, encouraging you to switch between concentration and relaxation. In addition, the growth environment was carefully planned from the design stage, including acclimatizing the plants, arranging them according to the illuminance, and ensuring ventilation with a blower fan. As for operation, weekly maintenance is carried out to keep the plants in good condition.

Encouraged by this award, we will continue to strive to create office environments that are kind to both people and plants, and will use this knowledge in our proposals to customers.
