ITOKI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Minato) will launch ADDCELL Hexa (ADDCELL Hexa), a construction-free, multi-use work point with a hexagonal shape that enhances team unity and solves office meeting room shortages and sound problems, on Friday, November 1, 2024.

With hybrid work and web conferences now commonplace, the demand for movable private booths is on the rise as a solution to the chronic shortage of conference rooms and audio environment issues during web conferences. In January 2022, we launched ADDCELL a closed booth that takes people and sound into consideration and blends into any office. Compared to regular ADDCELL, it features a new structure that eliminates the floor, and has been well-received for its wide variety of options, including one-person, two-person, four-person, and universal types, its ease of use without the need for construction, and the comfort inside the booth due to its slim outer design.
Recently, the demand for multi-person types has been on the rise due to an increase in meetings using large displays. In addition, due to the amendment of the Fire Service Act in March 2023, the floor area of private booths (movable booths) that are exempt from fire protection equipment has been relaxed from a maximum of three square meters to a maximum of six square meters, leading to the development of a model that enables communication with a greater sense of unity for a larger number of people so that it can also be used for team meetings.
The seating arrangement, which takes advantage of the hexagonal shape, faces the display monitor, and the latest private booths with excellent sound insulation and absorption capabilities, solve the lack of conference rooms in offices and the noise problems in open spaces, and enable creative team collaboration.

(1) Hexagonal shape and diverse lineup enhance the sense of unity both online and offline

The hexagonal shape allows for large displays to be installed and the layout is easy for everyone to see, which helps to create a sense of unity among the team. The dedicated sofas, which conform to the shape of the room, are shaped to allow attendees to face each other and are suitable for in-person presentations and online communication. The high seat type can also be used in conjunction with a whiteboard for dynamic meetings centered around brainstorming. It can be used for both online and in-person communication, and monitors up to 55 inches can be installed.

In addition to the "Lounge Type (Low Sofa)" and "Lounge Type (High Seat)," we offer a lineup of four types: the "Table Type" with face-to-face seating to cover the shortage of conference rooms, and the "Blank Type" that allows you to arrange the interior furniture according to your needs. You can freely choose the interior design according to your working style.

(2)A design that allows it to be installed in the center of the office and utilizes huddle spaces

By maximizing the glass surface and updating the design to give it a more open feel, the installation location can be expanded to the center of the office. In addition, by arranging multiple booths side by side, they can be used as huddle spaces (temporary meeting spaces) where people can gather. Whiteboards can be attached to the outside of the booth as an option, allowing you to freely create the perfect workspace for short meetings before and after meetings, or for small tasks, encouraging communication between office workers and improving work efficiency.

(3) Large private booths that require no construction and can be assembled quickly

This large booth is approximately six square meters and can be used by up to six people, something not possible with conventional private booths. It can be easily installed without the need for the extensive equipment work that occurs when installing partitions. It takes about half a day to assemble one booth, so installation is just as quick as with previous ADDCELL. It has excellent sound insulation and sound absorption, and a slim outer design that makes it comfortable inside the booth, so even a large number of people can have team meetings with ease.

A large rectangular model is also scheduled to be released in January 2025. ADDCELL has been developed as a closed booth that fits into any office, taking people and sound into consideration, and the maximum size has been expanded from 4 people (approximately 3 square meters) to a type that can be used by 6 to 8 people (approximately 6 square meters). While retaining the conventional automatic operation function of lighting and fans when entering the room and sufficient sound insulation for real-life and web conferences, it can be used to flexibly expand medium-sized conference rooms without requiring facility construction.

ITOKI is leveraging its strengths of "Tech x Design based on PEOPLE" to develop a range of smart office products that improve the usability of new ways of working through hybrid and ABW. Products such as the "sound parasol" and "sound sofa sofa" from the sound furniture series, which solve sound problems such as sound leakage and noise interference during web conferences in open spaces, the "Panora" conference table that creates a sense of unity like face-to-face meetings and stimulates communication, and the "workers Trail Hoteling Label," a reservation status display label that makes it easier to select and use work locations, seamlessly connect people and places to realize comfortable and creative new ways of working by combining spatial design, technology, and furniture.
