Itoki introduces the ``Partnership System'' and supports ``Business for Marriage Equality (BME),'' which promotes the legalization of same-sex marriage.

ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Minato hereinafter, "ITOKI") will introduce a "partnership system" from January 2023 that applies the same benefits and regulations to common-law marriages, same-sex partners, and their children and parents as to legal spouses and family members.

In addition to the introduction of this partnership system, we have also revised our rules regarding harassment, prohibiting SOGI harassment, and prohibiting the handling of sensitive personal information such as sexual orientation, gender identity, medical history, and infertility treatment. It has been specified that workers will not be exposed to other workers without their consent.

``Discriminatory remarks, ridicule, bullying, violence, etc. related to the gender of the person you fall in love with (Sexual Orientation) or your own gender identity (Gender Identity)'' ``Subject to mental or physical harassment.''

Furthermore, in conjunction with the introduction of various systems, we have expressed support for Business for Marriage Equality (BME), which promotes the legalization of same-sex marriage. Through support for BME, ITOKI will continue to contribute to the realization of a society where everyone can live in a more authentic way, both inside and outside the company.

[What is BME?]

BME is made up of three organizations: Marriage For All Japan (MFAJ), a public interest incorporated association founded in November 2020, Lawyers Network for LGBT and Allies (LLAN), a non-profit organization, and Nijiiro Diversity, a certified non-profit organization. This is a campaign jointly managed by. As of December 21, 2022, 335 companies and organizations have expressed support.

Initiatives so far

Based on the commitment of our top management, ITOKI considers our employees to be ``diverse human resources,'' including colleagues of various ages, genders, sexual orientations, gender identities, nationalities, disabilities, employment types, work styles, customs, and values. Our goal is for each person to be ``lively'' and utilize their unique characteristics to demonstrate their potential.

In November 2022, we declared ourselves an LGBTQ ally, and at the same time, we distributed original LGBTQ ally badges and stickers within the company to make our ally status more visible. In addition, in fiscal 2022, we received a "Bronze" rating in the "PRIDE Index," an evaluation index for initiatives related to sexual minorities such as LGBTQ within companies.

LGBTQ and ALLY ITOKI aims to create a work environment where everyone can work in their own way, and declares that we respect and support diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.

How it will be done in the future

ITOKI will continue to create a workplace environment where everyone can work in a more active and authentic way through the expansion of various systems and training.
