Six companies participate in Itoki's cross-border experience platform "OpenWorking" to create "autonomous workers" who can design their own growth

A new place for growth support created across companies, such as by challenging other companies' actual operations.

ITOKI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Minato) began offering the cross-border experience platform "OpenWorking" in April 2022, where workers can learn from each other across all "frames." The event attracted 24 participants from six companies across industries, occupations, and generations. Each participant forged their own path, whether through discussions with management or taking on the actual work of other companies, aiming to reach their own summit six months from now. The next event will be held in October 2022, and the company is looking to recruit more participating companies.

What is OpenWorking?

OpenWorking offers a 6-month cross-border experience program based on a place where diverse values intersect by bringing together various companies. Specifically, by providing the experience of designing your own growth through the following three phases, we will support the growth of "autonomous workers" who are necessary for future job satisfaction and corporate growth. I will do it.

In the “Onboarding phase,” we reconsider ourselves from the perspective of participants and management from other companies.

The 24 people who participated in OpenWorking this time experienced the ``Onboarding Phase,'' which takes place over the first month of OpenWorking. By coming into contact with the ways of thinking of executives from various companies and other participants with backgrounds different from your own, you can gradually break out of your rigid framework of thinking and start thinking about what you want to be at work. Draw your own path towards that goal. In this way, we create an action plan using OpenWorking that each person can work on autonomously while borrowing the wisdom and perspectives of others, and then move on to the Quest phase.

During the Quest phase, you can jump into actual work at another company and test your skills.

When you enter the "Quest phase," you will proceed along the path to growth that you have designed yourself, making the most of the resources inside and outside OpenWorking. As part of the Quest phase, OpenWorking provides opportunities to engage in actual work at other participating companies for a certain period of time by leveraging our reliable inter-company network. Rather than being treated as ``guests'' from outside the company, participants boldly take on the challenge of leaving their mark as project members. The projects gathered from participating companies this time include a variety of projects, including social contribution activities undertaken by the participating companies themselves, as well as work challenges related to actual business themes. A cross-industry network allows you to try out your skills and experience in a completely different field and culture, leading to rediscovering the value of yourself and your company.

Launch of a "Supporters Community" to spread individual growth to the organization

OpenWorking supports the autonomous growth of each participant through a six-month cross-border experience, and as a mechanism to spread this to the entire organization, we have launched a "Supporters Community" made up of all participating companies. . The event will be open not only to people in charge at participating companies, but also to participants' supervisors, who will support participants' activities and participate in cross-company initiatives. By doing so, we will allow participants to take on the cross-border experience with peace of mind, and we will be able to watch over their growth and serve as a source of feedback to the organization for what they have learned.
