ITOKI CORPORATION (headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Yoshiro Hirai) has developed a custom-made mobile shelf exclusively for the small unmanned transport robot "Racrew" (manufactured by Hitachi Industrial Products, Ltd.), which can also be used in automated pallet warehouses. The shelf has been adopted by Konishi Medical Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka / Chairman and CEO: Kenzo Konishi), a member of the Ship Healthcare Group, at their new medical materials logistics center, the Osaka Solution Center.

In recent years, the logistics industry has been facing a variety of challenges, including increased demand due to changes in consumer purchasing styles and a serious labor shortage regardless of industry. At ITOKI, we have strived to improve customer convenience and productivity with a variety of logistics products, in order to play a part in solving the social issues surrounding the industry as a whole.

At Konishi Medical Equipment's newly opened "Osaka Solution Center," Itoki's custom-made mobile shelves (hereinafter referred to as "Racrew-specific shelves") will be used exclusively for the small unmanned transportation robot "Racrew (*1)." It was designed and developed by ITOKI with the assumption that it will be used as a small unmanned guided robot. It has been used in apparel and mail-order distribution centers to date, helping solve labor shortage issues and supporting logistics infrastructure, where demand has surged due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For deliveries to the Osaka Solution Center, Racrew dedicated shelves were used not only for unmanned transportation by Racrew, but also for Konishi Medical Equipment's automatic pallet warehouse, which required a large amount of manpower and time to transport medical materials and other materials. By improving productivity through more efficient "picking" work, we are contributing to the next-generation SPD "smart medical solution" (*2) that Konishi Medical Instruments is aiming for. Furthermore, although this is Itoki's first delivery of Racrew dedicated shelves in combination with an automated pallet warehouse, we have taken quality measures to ensure that the shelves do not become distorted due to the acceleration that occurs when transporting Racrew dedicated shelves within an automated pallet warehouse. We have repeatedly conducted durability tests to ensure that it can be used safely.

In addition to Racrew-specific shelves, ITOKI products are also widely used at the Osaka Solution Center, including fixed shelves, partitions, and furniture for offices, conference rooms, and cafeterias. ITOKI will continue to support our customers in creating their working spaces from various angles.
