ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Joto-ku, Osaka City, President: Yoshiro FLIP FLAP Chair)'s FLIP FLAP Chair has been selected as the winner of the highest award, the Gold Award, in the product design category at the internationally acclaimed iF Design Award 2017.

This office chair conveys a very high level of innovation.
The highly ingenious exterior has folding flaps on either side of the backrest, allowing it to be adjusted to suit the individual sitting in it. The mechanism works extremely well, allowing the seat position and angle to be adjusted as required for maximum ergonomics. The adjustment knobs are intuitive and easy to use, making this a very comfortable chair in every respect.

The multifaceted design was born from the idea of origami and can bend in three dimensions to accommodate various postures. It is a new type of chair with a simple, linear structure that makes it easy to work for long periods of time without getting tired.

This is a globally renowned design award that has been held since 1953 by Industry Forum Design Hannover (iF), an organization based in Hannover, Germany, that promotes international design. Comprised of seven categories - product, packaging, communication, service design, architecture, interior/architecture, and professional concept - the award selects outstanding designs from industrial products and other products around the world every year.
This year, 5,575 entries were submitted from 59 countries, and 75 Gold Award winners were selected.
