"Hattobai Wall/Hattobai Flooring"
Satoyama revitalization project to develop new demand for local timber
Quercus stenophylla was once planted for firewood and seaweed cultivation, and is now widely distributed mainly along the coast in the southern part of the prefecture, closely related to local life. Chiba Prefecture has developed flooring materials and waist-high wall units that take advantage of the beauty of Quercus stenophylla, which is being used less and less, as a new way to utilize the tree. We will promote the revitalization of Satoyama by promoting the development of products that convey the appeal of timber produced in Chiba Prefecture and the appeal of timber products produced in Chiba Prefecture.
Office furniture development project using locally produced cedar wood
Creating a town filled with local materials through collaboration between industry, government, and the private sector
Under the slogan "One Company, One Wood," Fukui Prefecture is promoting wooden construction and wood use by private companies using locally produced timber, and is proposing new opportunities to use locally produced cedar timber through the development of office furniture utilizing ITOKI's Econifa scheme. Using locally produced timber in office spaces increases the amount of CO2 fixed through the use of wood, thereby fulfilling a company's social responsibility to be considerate of the environment, and the relaxing effect of wood contributes to the health of workers by relieving stress and encouraging a change of mood, leading to increased productivity.
What is Econifa?
Econifa is a solution that utilizes local timber from all over Japan to make office furniture, contributing to "increasing CO2 absorption" through forest regeneration and "increasing CO2 fixation" through the use of wood.
ITOKI is committed to utilizing domestic timber and will contribute to creating a wooden society.
