Itoki received the award for "Workcise: Improving physical and mental health while working"

Employee health is an important management issue. Traditionally, health management has been considered to be the individual's responsibility, but due to the financial impacts of declining labor productivity, business continuity, and rising medical costs, the idea of employee health management as a management issue is spreading.

Itoki is a company that operates with the corporate concept of "Vibrant People, Beautiful Planet.- New Ud & Eco style" and aims to create a society where people's happiness and the preservation of Planet environment can be compatible. Its main business is creating environments such as offices where people work and live, but it also wants to create environments where workers can continue to work in good health and with peace of mind, proposing the idea of "Workcise."

What is "Work Size"?

Workcise is "an action that increases work efficiency while also having a positive effect on health," such as working while standing or walking to someone's desk. It is a coined word that combines work and exercise. By incorporating workcise into your daily work style, you can encourage awareness of improving your health through the accumulation of daily actions.

Rethinking the current way of working

Spending most of the day sitting at a desk facing a computer. Forcing yourself to come to work even if you have a slight fever. These are common scenes in offices up until now. Many people may know that this way of working is somehow bad for their health, but they may think that it is unavoidable to sacrifice some health for the sake of work. However, it harms the health of workers, affects their motivation and job satisfaction, and also affects the productivity of the entire organization.

Workcise makes it possible to "improve your health while working"

By changing your mindset a little and working in a way that prioritizes increasing behaviors (workcise) that are good for both work and health, you can work more efficiently and continue to work healthily and energetically. Furthermore, rather than relying solely on individual awareness and effort to achieve this type of work style, if you provide support through the development of an office environment and systems, you can encourage workcise without relying on differences in individual awareness, leading to sustainable health promotion and improved efficiency.

Itoki will continue to strengthen its Workcise initiatives in order to become a company where employees can thrive and shine. At the same time, by widely promoting the use of Workcise in offices, it will contribute to creating an environment where office workers in Japan can thrive.
