Spina Chair receives carbon offset certification for fifth consecutive year
ITOKI's Spina Chair was the first in the industry to receive carbon offset certification in 2010, and will continue to sell the product with carbon offset certification from December 2014 onwards.
Carbon offsetting is a concept that contributes to the environment by making efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2, which are unavoidable in daily life and economic activities, and offsetting the amount that cannot be reduced with emission credits created from reduction and absorption activities carried out elsewhere. Also, by using emission credits created in developing countries, it is not only possible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also to contribute to international aid.
The environmental impact of each Spina Chair model is calculated from the procurement of raw materials to disposal and recycling, and the entire amount is carbon offset.
The carbon offset of Spina is implemented by the customer, so it can be promoted as an example of environmental contribution in the customer's CSR report. Spina has such an environmental contribution aspect in addition to the design and functionality.
ITOKI will continue to promote sales of spinners with carbon offsets and make further efforts to contribute to the environment.
Spina means "spine" in Latin, and was named after the mechanism that constantly supports the hips and back.
