ITOKI "High Earthquake Resistant Partition G" lineup expanded

ITOKI CORPORATION (President and CEO: Matsui Tadashi) will be adding a wide range of options to its highly earthquake-resistant steel partition series, "High Earthquake Resistant Partition G," including glass and transom open styles, and will begin selling them in 2015.

In the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, human casualties occurred due to the collapse of steel partitions. In response, ITOKI launched the "High Earthquake Resistant Partition G," a lineup of all-steel panels and steel doors, in November 2013 as a measure to "protect human lives" and "maintain functionality" indoors.

After its release, we received many opinions from customers regarding its use as a disaster mitigation measure, as an evacuation route, a space where people who are unable to return home can wait safely, a conference room that can be used as a disaster response room, information security areas such as server rooms, and stockpile warehouses. Based on these customer opinions, this time we will be offering a lineup of common styles of steel partitions, such as "glass panels" and "ranma open panels."

Product Features

1) Steel partitions that can withstand large earthquakes

*We generally recommend that all existing ceilings be inspected for earthquake resistance.

The current standards for the earthquake resistance of steel partitions are "horizontal acceleration 1G, vertical acceleration 0.5G" and "in-plane deformation of 1/150 of the inter-layer displacement."
This product complies with the new national technical standards (part of the notification specifications) for ceilings, escalators, etc., and meets the standards of "horizontal acceleration of 2.2G on the ceiling surface" and "inter-story displacement of 1/40."

*The "horizontal acceleration of 2.2G at the ceiling surface" applies only when combined with a highly earthquake-resistant ceiling.

We have confirmed that it is effective not only on highly earthquake-resistant ceilings, but also when installed on existing ceilings that have been reinforced with braces, etc.

2) Based on customer feedback, we offer a wide variety of styles, including glass.
3) Reliable product testing

Itoki has vibration testing equipment and interfacial displacement testing equipment in its own factories, and always conducts earthquake resistance tests to confirm quality during product development.
