Nestle Japan and ITOKI launch the "Wellness Office" project!

Nestle Japan Ltd. (Head office: Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture; President and CEO: Kozo Takaoka; hereinafter referred to as "Nestle") and ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; President and CEO: Tadashi Matsui; hereinafter referred to as "ITOKI") are launching the "Wellness Office" project to promote the physical and mental health of working people.

We plan to roll out a variety of proposals based on the theme of "Let's make some changes to the office environment and work styles," and this fall, as the first step, we have jointly developed "Café NESCAFÉ Office," an office tool that creates new value.

About the "Wellness Office" Project

In recent years, Japanese offices have been facing various challenges, such as improving productivity and revitalizing communication within the office.
The "Wellness Office" project is a mid- to long-term project in which Nestle, which operates the "Nescafe Ambassador" program (https://shop.nestle.jp/front/contents/ambassador/amb/ec/) that brings smiles and delicious coffee to the office, and Itoki, which continues to provide a variety of office solutions and develops "Workcise," a service that suggests improving physical and mental health while working, have joined forces to continuously provide proposals to increase corporate value from new perspectives.

About "Café NESCAFÉ Office"

As the first step of the project, Nestle and ITOKI jointly developed "Café NESCAFÉ Office," an office tool that creates new value with a focus on "activating communication." In the space where the "Nescafe Gold Blend Barista" and "Nescafe Dolce Gusto" coffee machines provided in the "Nescafe Ambassador" program are installed, tables were designed and constructed so that workers can relax, have casual conversations, and hold small meetings.

The aim is for the "small talk" that arises from this to accelerate communication, ultimately leading to more efficient work. Two designs, "large" and "small," are available, and the methods and conditions for obtaining them are set as part of the "Nescafe Ambassador" program, and they will be introduced to each office through ITOKI's sales network.

Through this new project, Nestle and ITOKI will continue to undertake various initiatives with the aim of creating office environments where workers can be more comfortable and healthy.

About "Nescafe Ambassador"

The "Nescafe Ambassador" is a service that was launched in November 2012 to encourage people to use the "Nescafe Gold Blend Barista," a home coffee machine that has sold over 2 million units, not only at home but also in the office. In addition to its cost-effectiveness and convenience, the service has been well-received for its benefits, such as "stimulating communication within the office," which spreads conversation and smiles over a cup of coffee, and the number of applicants has exceeded 140,000 (as of the end of August 2014).
For applications for each "Nescafe Ambassador" course, please see the dedicated website.

About "Workcise"

"Workcise" is a coined word that refers to activities carried out at work that are good for both work and health. Activities such as actively walking around the office, working while standing, and communicating increase work productivity and also lead to improved health. By skillfully incorporating these "workcise" activities, we aim to promote physical and mental health while working. At Itoki, we propose office planning that increases workcise in line with work challenges and health issues.
