Dalton has announced the "HUGO" containment equipment series, which combines powder processing and containment equipment. The first product in the series, the "Containment Crusher HA-5" will be released on Wednesday, July 9th.

ITOKI CORPORATION (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Tadashi Sawada), a group company of Dalton Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Minato), will release the "Containment Crusher Model HA-5" as the first product of the "HUGO" series of containment equipment that integrates powder equipment and containment equipment. The first model in the HUGO series of containment equipment integrating powder equipment and containment equipment will go on sale on July 9 (Wed.).
This product addresses issues such as the safe handling of highly pharmacologically active substances in the grinding process in the pharmaceutical, chemical and bio industries, and the prevention of cross-contamination due to powder dispersion. By achieving a high level of containment within a single device, this product enables a higher level of worker protection and process efficiency.
The containment equipment series "HUGO" utilizes containment technology such as that used in isolators to achieve advanced containment performance with just one powder machine.
The first equipment, the "Containment Crusher HA-5" is based on an impact crusher and maintains a negative pressure inside, making it possible to crush highly pharmacologically active drugs with an OEL of 1μg/m3 or less. In the unlikely event of a problem, a flexible bag can be attached to access the inside of the equipment, and operation can be resumed after removing the cause of the problem. It is designed to be operated safely and efficiently, even when handling high-risk raw materials.
Before implementation, testing and demonstration are also possible.

In a containment performance evaluation conducted on the device alone, the equipment achieved a level of 0.1μg/m³ or less in all areas including the input, operator, and recovery sections. In addition, cleaning is compatible with the WIP (Wet In Place) method, enabling safe and efficient maintenance.

Its compact design, measuring just 2m in width, means it can be installed anywhere. In addition, the tools required for operation and maintenance have been kept to a minimum, and the structure makes it easy to handle even with gloves on, making work simple.

Depending on the target particle size and powder properties, the equipment can be switched from hammer type to pin type while keeping the main configuration the same.In addition, it can also be made explosion-proof, suitable for environments where organic solvents, alcohol, etc. are used.

Flexible bags can be customized to meet your needs, taking advantage of the material properties and the strengths of domestic manufacturing.
