ITOKI receives "WELL Certification Gold (Interior)"
ITOKI TOKYO XORK the head office office with spatial functionality and quality that supports new ways of working, was recognized
ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshiro Hirai) has achieved Gold level certification for its head office, ITOKI TOKYO XORK, under the U.S. healthy building performance evaluation system, WELL Building Standard™ (hereinafter, WELL Certification).
WELL certification is the world's first building and indoor environment evaluation system that focuses on the health and comfort of people who live and work in buildings, and was created based on seven years of rigorous research and development by the International WELL Building Institute. A major feature of the system is that it is verified not only from the perspective of environmental engineering but also from the perspective of medicine as a standard for objectively evaluating buildings that are comfortable, safe, and healthy for people.
Itoki opened its headquarters office ITOKI TOKYO XORK in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, in October 2018, with the aim of creating new value by improving organizational productivity and creativity, and achieving wellbeing by improving employee work engagement, maximizing workers self-discretion and workers autonomously designing their own work styles. XORK has been implementing " Style," a new way of working based on the theme of "FREE," in which employees design their own way of working autonomously. At the same time, since achieving preliminary certification in September of the same year, we have been striving to improve our operations and indoor environment to comply with the standards with the aim of obtaining full certification at the "Gold" level.
By obtaining this Gold level certification, ITOKI TOKYO XORK has been able to demonstrate, through an international evaluation system, the usefulness and effectiveness of its office design, which keeps the mind and body of employees who practice active and free working styles healthy.
Going forward, we will utilize the knowledge and know-how we have gained through our efforts to obtain WELL certification in our office proposals to customers, and will put into practice the creation of comfortable, safe and healthy working “Space," “Environment," and “Place"."
