book truck AT

book truck AT

A book truck for transporting books in the library. Conventional products have casters placed at the four corners, but many say that they are difficult to move when fully loaded with books. The Book Truck AT is inspired by the Daihachi-sha and has two large diameter wheels in the center, achieving light operating force (30% less compared to our company) when fully loaded with books. In addition, since it rotates around large-diameter wheels, turning performance is improved and movement through narrow passages is smooth.

Evaluation Comments from the “Good Design” Committee

A collection of books is really heavy. To reduce the number of trips, librarians transport many books at once using book trucks. Therefore, in addition to casters at the four corners, we installed large-diameter wheels in the center to solve the problem.
Similar configurations can be found in other genres such as catering trucks, but they work extremely effectively for operating book trucks. By making the starting operation easier and improving the turning performance, it is significant that it greatly reduces the burden on librarians who have to carry it many times a day. It can be seen that after the concept was formulated, repeated site visits and prototype evaluations were carried out to create an easy-to-use product.

WorkSense Resource Log/Mediatake

WorkSense Resource Log/Mediatake

Energy management cloud service. Visualize energy data on the web at all scales, from a single breaker to multiple buildings and even communities. Anyone can check their energy status anytime, anywhere through a variety of devices. In addition, dynamic ``displays'' of news, electricity forecasts, weather forecasts, etc. are also being realized on digital signage.

Evaluation Comments from the “Good Design” Committee

By displaying energy saving information on signage, office users will become more actively involved in energy saving themselves. Visualization has had concrete effects, such as the fact that office power consumption peaked during off-peak hours.
