ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Minato) released the "ASICS RUN TOKYO MARUNOUCHI" project, which was co-designed with SAKUMAESHIMA, on Tuesday, February 27th on the design gallery site "ITOKI WORK-Style Design," which explains the company's cutting-edge spatial design examples from a designer's perspective.

ASICS RUN TOKYO MARUNOUCHI, located a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Station, was created to support runners by providing not only store functions, but also measurement services, rentals of the latest shoes and running devices, and events led by ASICS Running Club coaches. This is a new type of store. ASICS' new brand concept ``HORIZON'' is incorporated into the design, with lighting that changes color depending on the time to express ``SKY,'' and cork flooring, a sustainable material, to express ``EARTH.'' . The interior of the store has been completely changed from the previous dark tones to a neutral color of light gray, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere for runners and making it easier for women and beginners to stop by.

By optimizing the zoning of aisles and sections within the store, we have created a space that can be used smoothly by both runners and shoppers. In addition, the lighting on the stairs at the entrance has been changed to a gradation to enhance the spirits of runners as they begin their run. The in-store event space is designed to be easily changeable in layout by incorporating movable fixtures on casters, allowing it to accommodate a variety of occasions.

The store is made up of original fixtures that are both functional and design-friendly, and the fixtures made of acrylic in particular are symbolic of the store, with their transparent texture acting as a buffer for the space. In addition, by aligning the silhouettes of the pillars and fixtures, we create a sense of unity and visual expansion in the space, leveraging the strengths of SAKUMAESHIMA, which has extensive store design experience, and ITOKI, which has fixture design know-how and production capabilities. It features a design that makes use of it.
