ITOKI CORPORATION (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshiro Hirai) released the LINEA meeting chair on December 1st. The chair uses knit fabric for the back and seat, and is urethane-free, helping to reduce the environmental impact.
With the spread of a new normal way of working that doesn't depend on where you work, office spaces have become more casual than before, and are now being used for an even wider range of purposes, including meetings, seminars, refreshments, and meals.
On the other hand, as part of the social responsibility of manufacturers, there is an increasing need to shift to manufacturing that reduces the burden on Planet environment while still maintaining the functionality of furniture. The LINEA chair, which will be released this time, is a meeting chair that aims to reduce the environmental impact by reviewing the component structure of conventional chairs and reducing the number of parts with a simpler structure.
Main features
A clean design that blends in with natural interiors
It has a linear silhouette with slender legs and a thin back seat, and all parts are finished in one color, so it blends well with natural interiors such as flooring and plants.
Backrest and seat made of knit
It is made of a single piece of knit from the back to the seat. Without using urethane, the knit stretches just the right amount to fit your body and provide a soft sitting comfort. Compared to the method of constructing the back seat using textiles, this method also contributes to reducing the environmental impact, as there are fewer unfinished parts (offcuts) that are inevitably generated during manufacturing.

Up to 3 chairs can be stacked and stored flat. When the chair is not needed, you can put it away and use the space efficiently.
